ZR1 Valve Cover Plaque info?
A customer dropped by our shop today and brought this. It is a ZR1 valve cover signed by Dave McClellan and all of the assembly line workers. Has anyone seen something like this before? I am trying to find out more info for the customer. Limited edition? Value? Thanks in advance if anyone has more information on this.

The object is a left side cam cover from an LT5 motor. The Thunder in Stillwater event was held in October 1993 so it wasn't done then. So I'm guessing that it was a special deal done to honor the people that did the work for the LT5. I'm curious as to how this person got this. It's an incredible find. Looks like a special tribute presented to someone up the chain. Never seen this before but I recogize some of the names on it.

Terry,
It was probably a "1st place" door prize at Thunder @ Stillwater... Great find!!!!
Limited Edition? Yes!
Value? Hard to say. My guess $600 to $1000? All depends what somebody would pay.
Did the owner of the piece just buy a ZR-1? If so, what year/color Z???

Here is the information I got back from the Corvette Museum today.
Terry,
I had one response over the weekend concerning the most unique piece of memorabilia. He said it would be hard to say being pretty rare and value is based on whatever a person is willing to pay of course.
Rough estimate I would say $500 to a $1,000.
He also said it was from the Gathering at Stillwater that Larry Merow had back in 1993 which makes sense by Dave McLellan’s signature. He also pointed out they were center pieces one at each table. He was not sure how many there were or how many got signed.
We hope this helps a little. If I find out any more information I will forward it on to you.
Let your friend know, if he does not find a purchaser for this item, he could always donate it to the museum. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation and all gifts are tax deductible.
Thank you for your inquiry and we hope you will get to visit us soon.
