There was a red '90 ZR-1 on ebay a few times a little while back for $8,900. Had somewhere around 140K I think, it needed some TLC but supposedly it ran good. That's the cheapest I've ever seen for a running Z.

I paid 10.5K for my 130K mile 90 2 years ago.
There was a 90 that went for 8K with 143K

Do you want a car that needs work or all the work has been done to it?

Condition VS Situation
I don't think the lowest price always reflects the sellers motivation for selling at a low price. Their a several factors that determine the price a ZR-1 sells for, or any car for that matter.
Try this one on for size. My Smog guy tells me a while back that one of his customers came in with a 94 LT-1 red convertible. Guess what he paid for it ?
How about $800? It was at an estate sale and the children ( hiers ) disposing of the estate were from back east. They simply wanted to get rid of the Vette that day so they could get on with their lives and didn't really care what it sold for as long as they got something for it now. Ray, my smog guy said the Vette was like a brand new car.
Makes you want to get up early and look around at estate sales doesn't it ?

Safety Car
I think the prices will still go down...at least until the supply dries up.
I know that big block C2's and C3's appreciated before they were 25 years old, but that's because the late 70's and 80's cars had no power. Contemporary cars have power out the ying-yang, so the appeal of a premium priced sports car from 20 years ago may not be what collectors want it to be. You just really have to want one, I think. Hard to justify the premium.

Don't get pizzed. There is this meathead with a 94 Admirable Blue. It's real shiney , but slow as the dickens. Bet he'll let the car go cheap.
