Pilots and mules-move on if tired of topic
Sorry, lots of discussion, but it fascinates me...I read on one site that GM had made over 150 pilots and non salable cars for the zr1 initially....they can't all have been crushed (that would have been about 10 mil in cars) ....can anyone forward site(s) that might discuss this, or provide a viewpoint.
I've searched the threads here and find nothing new.
On another topic, I'd like to try and figure out how many zr 1 production cars still exist. Are there any reasonably accurate percentages on how many cars cease to exist each year ? I wouldn't be surprised if 50% attrition so far...insurance companies likely have a good idea at least for the entire car population as a whole.

I have a car that will never be NCRS worthy and will never own a Prototype ZR-1, but love any / all info on them!!!!

I agree, Dave. I like everything Corvette related. I used to own a collection of every generation of Corvette, either restored or new, until the C5's came out. I found that it was just too expensive and exhausting to have them all. That's when I chose the 53-55 models and eventually added the ZR1 niche to the list.
