ZR-1/C4 Owners: Question?
Do you or anyone that you know of, have problems finding parts or
getting maintenance or work done on your C4/ZR1? Given the choice
TODAY, would you buy your C4/ZR1 or a plain C6 (2005 to 2007)?
For the past several months, I've noticed quite a few for sale on-line.
From the yrs. 1991 thru 1995. A few with very low mileage, in great
shape, etc. And I've often wondered why people are trying to get
rid of a car I would love to own. Bottom-line, would you buy a C4/ZR1 TODAY? Thanks

Welcome......Parts can be found, although some have been discontinued, and it takes a little digging to find some stuff. I have never not been able to find a part, and I drive mine a lot. I have not had good luck having others work on my Z. Only let it happen one time, and it was a fiasco, so I just do all my own service work. The community here is.....well I can't say enough about the support I have received working on the car. My Z over a plain C6..no contest. My car will run right with that car, and it is 21 years old. The Z still holds many endurance records, and quite frankly the LT-5 is the most beautiful engine put in a Corvette and sounds great revving to 7000 rpm. The car is a blast to drive, and puts a smile on my face every time. As for why people are selling, not really sure. Maybe they are not appreciating the way they thought they would, maybe the economy people can't justify a pristine car just sitting in the garage, either way, it is a fantastic time to buy one of these! Stop second guessing it, and jump right in, you only live once.

Yes! Drive one and you will understand "Permagrin!"
I get one EVERY time I drive it and the grin keeps getting bigger.
In fact, why not meet up with us sometime and your welcome to drive my car.
Send me a PM with your email / phone number

I bought one in March or April and never gave it a second thought about the "parts availability" and I work on all my own cars so I knew it would be fun getting to know something different. The ZR-1 is a great car; I was considering a RF C6 Z06 but after driving the C6 it was no contest I went with the C4. The Brotherhood is a great group of people and they will help you if you need it.

Wanted at least 400 factory hp. Never thought a ZR-1 would be in the cards, so I test drove a C6. The same week I came across my dream car, test drove it, and yup! I never looked back!
Wander over to the ZR-1 Registry.

It is the tightest support group - like you'll seldom see for just about any car. If OEM parts can't be found, someone makes them, and more are available every day! Rest assured, the LT5, unlike most GM motors, is comparatively bullet proof! You'll never have a second thought about keeping 'er running. The only regret I had was waiting so long!

If you are lucky enough to get to own more than one Corvette at the same time, one look at the LT5 and the mystique of the ZR1 when new, was enough for me to know I had to own at least one of these cars.
For me, the 06 or newer Z06 is next on the list, for sure.

Wanted to add........I just don't let local uneducated folks work on the Z anymore. There are some gurus that are amazing; Corey Henderson, Marc Haibeck etc......so there are folks that can work on them, just not around here.
