Default I want to make my 95 C4 growl!

I just bought a completely stock C4 with 80k miles and It's really quiet,
I'm on a really tight budget and I was wondering if getting rid of the first muffler on the stock exhaust and replacing it with an x-pipe of some sort would it make the car sound any better?
I'm looking for more of a rumble and or growl without hurting performance and trying to keep it as stock as possible.

My vette when I got the oil changed.

Thanks!

Well, looking at the picture of your car, it appears to be a LT-1 and not a ZR-1 (rear wheel offset). You might get a better response to your question by posting in C4 General or maybe C4 Tech Perf.

That said, I did removed the resonator and installed an X pipe in my old 92 LT-1. It made a nice rumble but ''livable'' in the cabin... finally installed a set of Borlas which made all the growl and resonance too.

No problem.. We're a friendly bunch over here but a C4 LT-5 isn't the same as your daddy's LT-1......

go check out mid america corvette - they have muffler eliminator pipes that go in place of the mufflers. they have the Lt1 exhaust tips. they are basically a straight pipe.

or you could play this recording to get that growl when cruising in your vette.

No offense intended. I was just pointing out that a ZR-1 ....4 cam 32 vavle LT-5 is a far cry from an LT-1

Those muffler eliminator pipes mentioned above will give you what you are looking for at the least cost.

Welcome to the forum. If your budget is tight, go with muffler eliminators. It gives you a nice rumble and no drone.

My buddy put the eliminators from MidAmerica)on his 88' roadster and sounds GREAT nice sound and no drone. took us about an hour getting the old off and the new on, we did use our four post lift and that is NICE.

Good luck wro87
