How about something like this with round lights?
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...installed.html

I have the ACA incased, round style HID on my C5z and it really updated looks,as well as lighting.

I'd love to have a set of those on our ZR-1. What is the cost?
You C5 guys get all the cool parts.

Not sure on price, but they are pricy, but really good output. I agree, but I am still a C4 guy too. :-)
I did the euro spec H4 lights on my C4 and it was a huge improvement, but you don't get the looks. WIth some skill, you could buy the separate projectors, and build a bracket to mount, but I think the flip around lights will make it more difficult. Check out Morimito projector lights, they are good quality, and some upgrade the standard ACA style C5 lights with these.

This site may be helpful. Something like this, then design an adjustable mount and a shroud.

I purchased the Marc Haibeck over sized pin to help cure the column play, and it did to an extent but there is still some. Just don't want it to be more noticeable with a lighter steering wheel.
Hi Torch sorry for the slow reply. I wanted to get more seat time to try and feel if it actually made a difference. The column in the z is tight.. im actually afraid of even pulling too much to see if it will move. Ive had all the issues with that and replaced the pins, the housing, and the entire knuckle with a new low mileage column. I really wish someone would make a column for our cars to eliminate this issue.

SO.. I am VERY big on steering feel. Its one of the reasons I like 19s and low profile tires and high psi. The momo wheel is a lot lighter than the oem wheel. While the quick release weighs a bit its right at the center of the wheel. I want to say theres a difference but is it measurable.. no. The tires, stiff springs and damping, type of tire, size of tire and psi are all contributing to the feel. Do I like it? Absolutely. The smaller wheel helps make it feel more responsive too. I plan eventually to put a short ratio rack in here like I did with my 93.

Here's a few recent pics I took .. and then on to the updates finally !

I picked up a non Z radio trim/bezel or whatever its called. I considered using the z bezel but a hole just draws the eye and a metal keyhole isn't exactly appealing to me. Maybe one day Ill persue that idea of a push start button in the z bezel.

Hands down the hardest piece ive wrapped thus far. Even this corner was a bit of a challenge.

The cutouts were the most challenging. Because they curve inwards it was a lesson in stretching the wrap and willing it to shape the way I wanted. Didn't turn out perfect but that was my fault because I used too much stripper and the surface wasn't 100% smooth underneath.

Love this stuff at night

Here's all the stereo components laid out. I wish I did the battery relocate to the rear would have made things a bit easier for the amp/sub out back.

mock fitting the head unit in the rado trim... turns out ill need to trim the bezel which sucks.. looks like ill have to wrap it again

So finally moving forward. Plan is to send the plenum and IH out and in the meantime do the clutch/flywheel and stereo install. it would be a miracle if the wife gives me time to get everything done but I would love to drive to Carlisle or another event before the season is over. I just couldn't stand driving with the stereo the way it was... especially since I know what the upgraded system will sound like and having to look at it every day for a year....

Had to jack it up just to fit a pan underneath to drain some coolant from the system.. figured ay as well get it ready for the clutch too.

picked up some huge 6 ton stands for the job

Not sure if its high enough but theres plenty more to go on the stands.

Ready to start the plenum/IH pull tomorrow

some progress...

Will be sending the plenum and IH out for porting and a re-tune for the chip. Will be removing the secondaries as well as having the coolant plugged for the plenum/TB.

One thing I wanted to say was I have a noticeable amount of oil in the plenum.. Ill take better pics in the light tomorrow.

pics for my own reference if needed..

Parts starting to pile up

Had to loosen this fuel.. connection? to get to this bolt. I also removed the fuel rail cap and tried to relieve pressure... there was no fuel to come out at all. bad thing?

Getting there..

Noticeable amount pooled up at the back. Will be installing catch can(s) before reassembly. Will take some pics in daylight tomorrow.

Wow Mike. You are dropping alot of coin into the old girl. I thought you were broke? I think the paint looks great for a re-paint!

This might be the longest thread ever....

Stereo stuff? You coming up to Wasaga Beach lol....

haters gotta hate. You love to mention the repaint in almost every post huh? Makes me laugh maybe try and find something else to make yourself feel better about?

Paint is in decent shape. Originality has no meaning to me I think that much is apparent considering ive already sold of tons of original parts and modified half the car. Plus a full callaway aerobody might be in this cars near future so it would get repainted again ! make you feel better Rick ? A double repaint OH MY GOD !!! if I have to be honest, I was thrilled that it had been repainted. Finding an ab 94/5 z with original paint in excellent shape for the price I paid.. not happening !!

@ B16gsr thanks !

Only update for now : Waiting on the plenum and ih to get finished, sent the chip out for a retune. Clutch and flywheel will get started on Monday. Picked up stereo wiring yesterday and will be doing the big4 upgarde as well as wiring the whole system soon.

Bored at work did a little video with some music last week... Don't forget Rick.. REPAINT !!
