No expert here but im sure you are googling and will find tons of reccomendations ( so much info out there on car audio!) but happy to say what I think would work and yes that's to put the 6.5 in the sill and the 4" and 1" up higher in the doors. The higher you put the tweeters the higher the sound stage but generally you want to keep them within 12" of the mid or so. Im running a 5 1/4 component set so I have the 5 1/4 in where the factory mids were in the bose enclosure and I sealed off the tweeter hole there. The tweets as you know are in the doors. Not optimal for sound, and I consider myself somewhat of an audiophile and I think it sounds absolutely fantastic.

Only update for now is I wired my external mic on the car last night, went out for several laps around town and came home to find out the 3.5mm adapter to the go pro wasn't working and it was using the external mic. On the bright side listening to the go pro videos had my music inside the car turned up.. and in the go pro videos... blows the bose out of this dimension.

I find I put the camera in different locations depending on need, I presume if you ran a wire you must always put your camera in the same place? I figured a stand alone audio recorder was going to be the best approach.

Yeah I have a suction mount but for now I like it on the harness bar on superview. gives a good view on both sides and in front and the interior too. I was just hoping for the exhaust sound instead of my music and me singing For the rolls I get into I like this view and Ill have it on all the time so its ready whenever someone random pulls up beside me

BAD Z sounds like your ZR1.......I did not check but you must be running Off-Road Headers or something close
Am running on two ZR-1s (90' and 91') Wilwood Rotors and C4 to C5-Z06 Front Brake Conversion with A-Molds.....
It is nice to have dependable brakes to go along with the other modifications

Thx ! Was a little too much traffic for me or I would have tried for a better stretch without traffic car has the Baer setup up front with the light rotors all around. Once I have the funds I'll be doing a 14/13 setup and this one will go back on the 93 car 😎

What was that car you were having fun with to the right side of you?

It was lots of fun watching as I was shifting with you
Amazing the identical sound of your car and BAD-Z. Am not sure who would win (you or I) but with your short shifter

More videos would be fun.....more fun

That is a nice set up you have for sure.....

Mike,

You are in my short list of 5 most awesome, modified ZR-1s. Keep up the great work and mods. In the end, you might spend close to 6 figures, but who cares. Very inspirational!

As for an update, 2 fuel pumps came in and i ordered the Bosch and ordered the wrong part number. Ended up ordering 2 more and am in the process of changing them now.Nothing was wrong that I know of except randomly 2 weeks ago or so she shut down while coasting to a stop.. i dont even know what happened i was about 10 mph music up and i saw the warning lights go up. I turned the music off and noticed the motor was off as all the temp gages were fine. The only time thats ever happened to me was when my e46 m3 had a ready to fail fuel pump. SO.. considering shes 21 years old why not change them both should finish in the next few hours and get out tonight to try them out.

Not much of an update but Got the new pumps in.. makes a nice whine on ign on Went with Denso. 100% perfect exact replacement. same size. same plugs everything. Just thought Id mention that. Theyre not cheap as the rock auto ones but I mentioned in other threads and I hate to say it but I don't like the idea of $20 pumps feeding this car even though the technical side of my brain knows there is probably very little difference between the pumps being what they are and doing the job theyre designed to do
Changed the o2 sensors and she runs great for now.

Only other addition is I signed up for a half mile event in August Got some pro photographers I know that will be there so heres to hoping I can aquire some really nice shots of the Z.... and the first pics not taken by me if theres anything I hate its that I cant drive and take my own rolling shots or video myself driving and showing the car from a 2nd person view.

Pumps in and socks tied in position.

Fuel pump test run

Next on the list. Pull the rad for cleaning. Get underneath and start measuring up this rear diffuser idea ! Hopefully this week I can give her a nice wash and add a few coats of polish that she really needs !!
