Thanks everyone !

I couldn't wait for the coilovers which are coming in and I almost ripped apart the suspension to chop the pads and raise the spring in its mounts to lower it but I decided not to do that since I may as well keep the spring in tact if I should sell it when I pull it out.

At the stock ride height I'm pretty embarrassed to drive it and I won't be installing the brakes since they won't fit under the 17s so I decided to just clean them up for now.

Before

Wheel off .. Ugh..

These will go on next week with 2 pc rotors..

After a few mins...

Rears

Tried out the blAck caps.. Ordered some chrome ones from summit. Even though ill be changing the wheels I love the zr1 wheels. More than likely ill get 18s like I had on the z28 and widen the rears to 11".

Thanks guys Went by my parents to grab the plate from my 93.. car still looks great even though I covered it up 6 years or so ago.. I really love quasar and I started to think that maybe I should have waited to find a 93 quasar.. but what fun would it be having 2 the same color !

Baer rotors still look great.. zinc plating really did its job !! Cant wait to put these on the Z!

Plate.. finally removing the m3 plate Sticker shows how long its been since the beast has been on the road

So far all the mods are en route and I should start tearing into the car hopefully by the next weekend.

Thanks for the compliments the back to back 6 years was tough but I think I turned my focus on the bikes an then the other cars so it wasn't so bad. Buying the z is really to get back what I lost with the 93. That car is a beast .. Rides firm and planted and is loud as hell and fast as fudge. Problem was .. Its too loud.. Too fast and poor on fuel and wasn't the most reliable running an aftermarket ECU with a tendency for the dizzy to fail (eliminated with the new build). The zr1 will have the looks and bolt ons and ill be driving it alot more without worries and for long distances

Well got all 4 hres stripped and clear removed.. Started with the multi step brushing learned alot after doing the first set so this time around its a lot easier and faster to get them exactly how I like. Going with a finer brush than the 540s with a satin shine. Powder coater gets back on vacation so they will be cleared next week. Ordered some fine paintbrushes and paint for the stripped center caps ill be adding a bit of my own touch to the emblems before I clear spray those too.

Got the front spring out and coilovers installed up front last night haven't played with the ride height at all but oh my does she look so much better now. Added chrome centers to the wheels with chrome lug covers. I personally hate chrome but if you're gonna do chrome gotta do it right ! I love the zr1 wheels and now ill be driving the car a LOT while I finish the wheels and wait for headers and stuff. Tonight ill pull the rear spring and add the coilovers and banski rear adj camber arms. Ordered the vette2vette frame stiffeners and am doing the clutch / light flywheel this coming week.. So many things to do so little time ....

Dakar rally ready factory ride height !

All apart. Quite simple really. Should have just done a front rebuild but its so easy ill do it over the winter .. All bushings and ball joints etc

Machined caps on chrome .. Facepalm

That's better..

Wasn't too sure about qa1s but only way to know is...

Before brushing

After brushing

One wheel is done :p

Can't wait

Took an unfinished wheel and stuck it on for fun... Yumm

Haven't played with ride height.. Will wait till springs settle and then do fine adjustments. Target height will be no gap at all maybe .5-.75 lower than this.

Sweet! Love this thread! Can you take a couple more shots of the finished coil over install as this will be a mod I do sometime early next year? Also can't wait to see the wheels! Leaning towards Fiske's but still want to see how these turn out! Nice job!
