Default eBay Challenge: Porsche vs Corvette

Porsche versus Corvette: It’s definitely a battle for the ages, a war that’s been going on for as long as the esteemed cars have been around. However, when it comes down to classic examples of the two cars being sold on eBay, which one do you pick?

easy one. I like that Porsche but the Zr1 blows it away in beauty and performance and for guys like me who like to modify.. it's not even a question.

I have a 95 C4 Corvette and I've had a 928 GTS. I had to sell the Porsche during the wife delete mod. Comparing these two isn't really fair to either one. It's like these guys comparing a Hellcat to a ZR1. Different car.......different purpose. Muscle car vs. sports car. The Porsche was by far the smoother car at speed. There was no road noise at 140 and it felt like you were sitting in your living room. The only sensation of speed was on the interstate when you went around a right hand bend in the road your head bounced off the drivers side window. It's a GT car as in Grand Touring while the Vette is a sports car. . The Vette has the coolest engine but an outdated interior and the build quality was always suspect to say the least. The Porsche interior is still not dated and the build quality was rock solid. Besides, bragging right for the longest timing belt go to the Porsche. It was almost 83 inches long.

Although I'm now a Vette lover I'd have to vote for the 928 with a manual tranny.

No contest. Porsche 928 GTS all day long. I've wanted one since I was a teenager.

928 S4 is a nice car and they can be had at very reasonable prices

they are similar to Zs that repairs and parts can be quite expensive and "engine out" service to replace the timing belts and other items scares many hamfisted mechanics away

more for me. I'd like to swap in a c5 drivetrain with a couple of hair dryers on it

I saw a blown up 928 in really good shape for a few grand and it was calling to me. but I need another project like I need ... well u know

The 928 was Porsche's failed attempt to make a rear wheel drive front engine V8........Just like the ZR1........which blew the Porsche away in every category.

what answers do we think we are going to get here??

I have a ZR-1 But I would buy a ZR-1, I hate 928's.

I own a Porsche but its a 79 930 Turbo because that's the car I like.
