Default Houston TX guys at Catalina Coffee on 1-28/24?

Two great four valves there, one same color setup as my '89 (white w red interior) and one a Callaway with aero body kit...any of you gents on here? I wanted to eyeball the cars further and ask many questions!

What color was the aerobody ZR? If it was charcoal metallic, that one is Scott’s car and he’s not on here much, if at all anymore. If it was black, that used to be his but he sold it. The charcoal aerobody has a 402 stroker, if I recall. Excellent video of it on YouTube where Scott was kind enough to give a ride along discussion about it.

The Callaway was some black/brown metallic (twas in the shade and not mine so did not go too close), interior was black. Non stock wheels, larger brakes, and center mount exhaust like C5. Sounded raunchy at idle...in good way!

White/red I have no idea the year, yet had ASR so 1992-1995? Younger guy driving it, pretty tall like me so I wondered how he ripped gears in it. Had both tops and the five spoke wheels (A molds?). Regardless, neat to see them. I THINK I saw a black Callaway ZR1 at Radwood years ago with the aero body in Austin maybe around 2019.

I brought one of my euro BMWs and one of my MBs.

Callaway would be Scott. Not sure if the owner of the white/red is on here, but I met him on the local C4 FB group yesterday. He just picked that one up fairly recently.

There is a group that gets together every Sunday morning up in Spring…if interested, I can send you some details. I’m down in Katy but try to get up there with my ‘91 ZR-1 once a month or so. Happy to answer any questions also.

Sounds cool, send me the info when you have time.

Still finishing up the brakes on mine (ABS module plugged internally), so I am working my way around that and still have to R&R the booster.

Yea the Charcoal Metallic was Scott's car. Awesome build and a hell of a nice guy.

The white on red 92 is mine. Got it earlier this month. Just put it in the air to get the coil over conversion going, hope to knock that out by the weekend. It's a bone stock car for now, but doing some maintenance, coilovers and just bought headers for it. I'll do some minor stuff to it.

Appreciate being "young." I'm about as young as a 40yr old can be. 6ft2 and a big shoe make wheeling it a delicate process, but surprisingly i fit better than i thought i would and plenty of room for my feet in the foot well.

I got into it a bit on the highway with that blown fox on the way home, took an L but that's ok, this is the "slow car."

Yep, that is it. Funny. I rolled 40 in Sept '23 and am 6'1". I found wearing running type shoes offer more pedal box space, my fave so far are from Brooks. I wear them when I drive in my hood in the C4 and my old lady's five speed 7-series BMW.

I had my hair flowing in wind (red) with Pitvipers on, maybe you saw me. I was with my pals the old BMW crowd.

Hopefully meet you and Scott sometime. I have never been in a ZR1. Wacky tuner cars? Sure. My C4 is pretty boring by comparison!

6’2 with size 13s here…running shoes to the rescue.

HitMan, the Sunday Vette gathering is at Handel’s Ice Cream in Spring.

8715 Spring Cypress Rd,
Spring, TX 77379

People start rolling in around 8:30am. There’s usually 4 or 5 C4s there. FB group is Northwest Houston Vettes & Hot Rods. There’s also a separate C4 group but I think that one is invite only. PM me your name if you want and I can add you there also.

Mine is pretty disassembled. One door panel out, Bose out being reman now, and pseudo operational brakes. It would be a good conversation piece.

Might stop out, but all I have odd are old MBs and BMWs down here.
