Need a new battery?
My 92' Z needs a new battery, I've found one at Home Depot(didn't even know they sold batteries) It is a Exide extreme 75X, 690cca, 40
month free replacement warranty, $75.00 plus Exide is offering an on-line rebate of $10.00 brings the price down to $65.00. Best price I've
found. Anybody have experience with this battery?

"Exide" has been around for decades; used widely in heavy duty industrial applications, especially by telephone companies, radio communications stations, cell towers, etc, etc. (Yours is the first time I've heard of them labeling batteries for automotive applications.)
That said, understand that the lead-acid technology is fairly stable - has been for some time. Therefore, where there were many makers, most have consolidated or been bought out by larger manufactures. In fact, there are just a few (3?) companies left in the US that makes batteries for the multitude of labels appearing on shelves e.g., AC Delco, Die Hard, Interstate, etc. For example, you can "Google" Johnson Control (for one) and see a list of the batteries they make. It is surprising just how many labels they make - who woulda thunk it, eh?

Yes, I've had experience with AC Delco, Die Hard and Everstart all produced by Johnson Control but never with Exide which I think still builds their own batteries, I was wanting to know if any Z owners have used this battery

VERY old name - and Tractor Supply has Exide too - got 'em in my JD 790 and two garden tractors.
I see they make an AGM version too.

On this side of the world (Dubai) batteries do not last long especially with the summer heat soak temperatures well over 50C. A/C delco made in Saudi you are lucky to get more than a bit over a year.
Excide is my battery of choice here as I can usually get two to 3 years out of one. Have lots of batteries on the local market, Malaysian, Korean and Chinese. 6 months warrantee and you best be looking for a replacement battery at your 13th month. Will only put Excide in my buses and so far they are very reliable.

Anything but AC DELCO. I've has 2 where one of the lugs pulled out and made a nasty mess. I have a DIEHARD in the car now but if the same company that makes AC DELCO makes DIEHARD batterys no more DIEHARDS either.

My first red top Optima lasted 8 years and gave reliable power. On my second one now. Yes, they are a bit pricey though I wouldn't cal them expensive for the amount of time it lasted.
I think the 1st one cost about $150... or less, over 10 years ago. This new one was about $180. Lets wait and see how long it last. 3 years and counting... I think... They are heavy also... 40 lbs
