Default OBD 1 diagnostic tool?

I am looking for a decent quality OBD 1 diagnostic tool. I would prefer one that will work with a variety of vehicles and OBD 2 as well (but not an absolute requirement). Dr Dwight Eickmeier had a very good, high quality, easy to operate and read unit that we used on my 90 ZR-1 about 12 - 15 years ago... I can't recall what brand it was. There have to be more than a few of you using these, however, I can't spend a fortune to acquire one. Any suggestions?

Thanks, Tom Little

I bought a used MT2500. It does most everything except the suspension codes.

Believe it or not, my Snap-On distributor gave me a VERY nice OBD-1 scanner with case a couple years ago that he had in his old trade-in inventory for years. If you're buds with your local Snap-On distributor, give him a shout, he might just have one that he would make you a deal on.

I recently purchase this ALDL USB cable setup. Works with the WinALDL and TunerPro RT programs and my favor the ALDLdroid app.

Can you make realtime tuning changes with the http://www.moates.net/aldu1-and-cabl1-p-127.html ?

Does this work with the ZR-1? Does it allow for all the same functionality as a MT2500 scanner?

Yes it much the same as the moates system.

The computer for a LT-5 is the same as a L98. Only the prom is different.

As for comparison to the MT2500 I don't own one but my understanding is it will do the same functions and you can also clear error codes.

Read up on the turner software listed in my previous posting and can check out ALDLdroid https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...ldldroid&hl=en I really like this app. I have it set up on a small 8" android tablet. If you put it in reverse screen mode so you can lay it on the dash and have it reflect of the front windshield while driving.
