My '95 #357 was built on 3/29/1995. If you have a '95 I can tell you your car's birthday.

Thanks for adding the pics. I had one from the front end that showed the windshield, but can't find it. I think it was from before the digital age and is not on my computer. The 95's seemed to have the worst windshields.

I'm pretty sure this is it

I'm surprised at the amount of delamination on a car that spent its entire life indoors.

It's a shame that these windshields were so bad. I had mine replaced with one that Limey got from Finland a few years ago.

Actually, the full statement was: "All Corvettes are Red. The rest are mistakes."

Former Asst. Chief Engineer and creator of the C4 Grand Sport, John Heinricy said that in a meeting during the C5 development back in the day.

the last zr-1 is an enigma car was cared for better than most indoors and not driven and yet the windshield looked really bad

clint might know more, but it seems the delamination issue is more a laminar separation of the glued layers and not as much related to heat cycles as I would have thought

also seems like the 90 and 91s had windshields that seemed to hold up better and unfortunately the later cars seem to all suffer the delam fate

I saw the kurt white windshields and some other repros and they look nearly authentic, but won't fool a NCRS judge due to the labeling

getting a stocker seems best to me as my car is a driver but to the show crowd this is a critical component of scoring high like any other correct part on the car

I'm about go not show but I really respect those that preserve the breed. I'm trying to wear more of them out personally.

and as all of us drivers know the lt5 will spin a few times

Don't mean to hijack. But why did the wind shields on ZR-1's have that issue?

Mine was getting bad. It just looked dirty and there was no way to clean it. Now it looks perfect. The layers just seemed to come unglued due to age. Mine does not spend much time out in the sun, so I don't think expansion was the cause. It was just poorly built, like so many other parts.

Actually, I've noticed just as bad or worse on the earlier cars. And I noticed it earlier with them. From my experience I would say it has more to do with deterioration over time than due to a specific year. I would also say that exposure to sun makes it worse. I would also say that rather than poorly built (as was definitely the case in the '70s), its more an issue of evolving technology....the ZR-1's were built with a commitment to excellence.
