Default It's Home!

Arrived today. I took a leap of faith and bought it sight unseen because of the documentation (bloomington gold and top flight). It was everything as advertised and then some. I cannot express how near perfect this car is. You can eat off it underneath. Everything works. Paper work galore. I feel like I am 20 again when I would drool over this thing at the dealer. Plus it looks great in the garage next to the Centennial.

Thanks Mike. Actually I may need a new battery. I had to help push it out of the hauler and use the Maybach to jump start it. Got it on a tender now in the garage. I wonder how many 2016 Maybach's will jump start another car much less a 93 ZR1? Must add to the value.

Absolutely gh! It's been since 2001 since I have owned a C4Z so the memory was fuzzy. Took it for a spin around the hood and was quickly surprised by the effort for braking vs the C6Zr1. Plus the lean in the corners was unexpected. But I LOVE IT!. I think everything was a little exaggerated since it is all original plus today's tech better be better. Honestly, this car gives me more grins and giggles than any car I have had in a while. Its a keeper.

Going from a newer car to an older one makes the flaws in the older much more apparent. Especially when that newer car is/was the recent king.

The only reason to own any C4 at this point is the visceral driving experience or fandom.

I was born in 1975, so for me the C4 was the absolute pinnacle of Corvettes from elementary school on into college. I look at C5/6/7 and I still get more excited when I see an awesome C4 despite their performance shortfall.

If you need help with that, I can help. Forced myself to learn how to do that. I hate not being mechanically inclined!

Great news Eric! Beautiful car my friend. Yes, once you get used to the C6 ZR1 with carbon ceramic brakes, the J55's on the ZR-1 will feel very heavy. You can lock them up, but with the stock pads/rotors (mine are same), you really have to stand on the brakes by comparison to haul the ZR-1 to a stop.

All amps working well too? Age does funny things to electronics.

You weren't standing with me in Buffalo when I asked Dave about his frame stiffeners. I'll be ordering a set for my '91 to install. Details on forum under C4 General Discussion. Should help a bit with frame flex on turns.

Great find and good to hear she made it in a covered transport with no issues.

Thanks JS,

I have been pouring through the suit case of documents that came with it. This thing pointed 99.8 at Bloomington in 6/08 and maxed out the NCRS Performance and Top Flight awards in 6/08. I have documents that including insurance cards through the years. It still has the original tires. Only item ever replaced was the battery in 07 which is why its dead. Will be getting a new one tomorrow. As for the radio and amps everything works perfectly. Highly doubtful I will ever do ANYTHING to it but tires will have to go sometime soon since I want to drive it some. I love this car and hope to pass it on to my son's along with the Centennial.

Excellent! Look forward to seeing you soon. If you're out for a spin, come on over to HMR. I'd love to see it in person.

Hey, Steve. I forgot all about the No Flex system. Did you find the info you needed?

So Eric, now what you should do is find a nice ZR w miles on it. Then do the mods to it, i.e. Brake upgrade, at least 500hp, blah blah blah. Then you can REALLY enjoy driving a ZR-1 all the time while you keep your timepiece.
Anybody w a Maybach out to easily be able to afford that. ZRs w 5-550hp
are just an absolute blast to drive.
