Default restoration of Steel Blue 91 #391 ZR-1

hey guys,

Bought a car from a friend who bought it 11 years ago with the intention of a full restoration including removing the Greenwood body kit and redoing the interior. He did start removing the interior to put sound deadening.... Car has 98k miles and drives very well!!! Great car to start with

It's a 1991 ZR-1 steel blue #391 and it's 1 of 46 made in steel blue and only 26 with steel blue interior.

Here is what I have planned:

Removing Greenwood body kit

Painting new ZR-1 OEM bumper, rockers, 95/96 fenders, door panels and front bumper.

Bought new Shelby Series 1 wheels and new BFG G force rival tires (275 35 18 and 335 30 18"

Reinstalling full interior

Minor maintenance of engine... While in there, headers!

New ZR-1 windshield and weatherstrip. New weatherstrip on the targa top and rear hatch.

Here are some before pictures!

with the exception of the rear wing I could live with the ground effects.

Nice, keep us updated on progress. Do you plan to keep a while or is it a flipper?

Cool David! You could have a lot of fun making that car into a "superstar".

What kind of brake calipers are on there? Are they the stock ones, painted? They look bigger somehow.

When I picked the car up, we discussed not removing the kit and removing it...

It'll be removed this weekend! Should be repainting new rockers / rear bumper and other misc pieces next week.

Thanks!

It's a shame most of the paint is in incredible condition, but will have to repaint most if not all of the car.

Hope to have the car repainted in the next 2 weeks....

Will schedule painting of the engine and installation of new weatherstrip and windshield.

Interior is getting started tomorrow....

I hit the seats with Leatherique and boy are the coming clean! Going to let them sit for a few day's and re apply.

Plan to deep clean the carpet and reinstall the interior over the next week.

This is a really nice car! Not looking for a show car, but a really nice driver.
