I'm more likely to just make a solo trip to the factory/museum one day. The CI is a bad time for me to travel. But I really want to get down there to see it all one day.

I said in an earlier post:
I know from a reliable source that Kevin McKay among others are *very* interested in these dyno sheets. I sincerely hope that the NCM doesn't let these important papers leave the building for some 'donation.' These documents should remain at Our Museum until all the corporate stuff settles. They are not in anyones way at the Museum currently(they are under lock and key), let's just make sure they stay safe and sound... As an aside, they are already sorted by engine number....
Then Adam said:
BTW: These documents will not be distroyed, or sent back. We have full intentions on keeping these forever. No matter who you are, how much you are willing to spend, or who you know. We can not distrubute these, til we get permission.

Adam:
I'm very glad to hear that you are certain the documents will remain in Our Museum's hands. I do realize that this isn't a priority for Our Museum right now(making the bond payment, etc, is #1) but perhaps someone in the ZR-1 community could serve as a liaison b/w the Museum and GM to try to get this matter rectified. There are *many* lawyers on the ZR-1 Net(probably here as well) that would donate their time for such a worthy cause. If I had my law degree you can bet I'd be the first to sign up.
I understand the reasons behind the restrictions but cannot fathom why it's so difficult to rectify the problem. I am confident that a couple of phone calls/written communications between a lawyer, Mercruiser, and GM would satisfy all parties involved in short order.
Bottom line, I'm very *excited* to hear that no one will have the opportunity to get these important pieces of Corvette history. Thanks for the update!

Dang Adam, Good thing it's you explaining this, don't think I would trust or understand if a lawyer explained it to me.

Re: (RangerZR-1)
Bryan, why does it have to be a Lawyer to send a letter to GM legal? Why not start a petition. I am not saying that this will get it done, but you never know. See what they have to say. It never hurts!

You answered your own question my friend.. It's GM's LEGAL(lawyers) Signing a petition isn't going to do diddley for a Big 3 company, plain and simple... Using a lawyer isn't always a bad thing(maybe usually;););)); sometimes they are needed to ensure that things are done in accordance with the law.

Re: (ZR WON)
The NCM has ALREADY declined important ZR1/LT 5 documentation because they 'weren't ready' to support a library function. Included were ZR1 factory assembly line component information, Lotus LT5 engine documenation, memos and other items. I have some of it and know where the other is should the NCM get its act togeather. Maybe I could trade it for access to the prototype and narrow bodied LT 5 build sheets.

I do not think we are gtting anywhere by pointing fingers at each other. Like I have already said, we are not distributing these records for ANYONE. We are legally not able to. This is the fact.

Re: (Adam Boca)
Adam I was talking about the 'build sheets' which you currently sell for $30 a pop, not the dyno sheets from MM. I had asked Mike Yager at Bloomington if I could have free access to them in order to do an article on the 88/89 prototype/pilot/engineering cars and how they were equipped, I have no desire to see the MM dyno sheets, the build sheets tell me what I want to know. Since he is the current NCM COB I felt that that was the correct approach and he said there should be no problem(we are talking about 50-60 build sheets over 2 years). Wendels position was this is revenue the NCM needs so it would not be free. I then asked what was the correct way to access information for research/article purposes he replied that since there is no library function there is no method that anyone can use to gain access to any information currently being held at the NCM. I have been involved with the NCM from the beginning and retention of and access to the records was as important as a place to house the cars, so his back burner statement about a library function was not something I thought I would hear.

Re: (Tyler Townsley)
The whole point of Wendells statement is that we can not give them away. We were given these to make money. You failed to mention you asked Betty to supply these for you, she got them ready, told you the price then you got upset. There is no way we can just give these to you. Others would be expecting the same. This is our policy. Betty gave you a more than fair price on the build sheets, and you chose to not go with that price.

Re: LT5 factory dyno sheets (4cefed)

Re: LT5 factory dyno sheets (backtrail69)
They should rate them like Octane in gasoline, Min rating 405....
Problem is, I don't think they dyno every engine like what was done with the LT-5s.. and my guess is the LT-5's prob didn't have a Min rating to pass...

Bringing this up from back in the day....has there been any progress in GM allowing the NCM to sell copies of the original dyno sheets or are they available now and I just missed it?

I'd love to get a copy of mine though, as I'm sure every other ZR-1 owner would.
Any new info on this Adam, or is it still the same story as back then?
