Default zr1 newbie possible builds

Hi all new to the forum finally got a job that will let me revive my dads zr1! So. I've been trying to think about possible builds to do. so far my favorite is the ever popular dream but rare to actually do from what I've seen is a hot ls7 build with a T56 6 speed behind that. I also really like the idea of hot camming an ls3 and maybe a turbo setup? But i've never ever worked on turbos barely even seen one. So I wanted to pose the question to all the vette vets (haha). What have you built and what do you suggest to a guy whos brand new to corvettes and hungry to learn? Thank you any and all for your input!

just had a thought. how much of a carnal sin and how possibly ugly would it look with a carbon fiber hood (color matched) with a hole hacked in it and a naturally aspirated blown motor in? lol!

Are you talking about a C4 zr1?

In my opinion you kill everything about the ZR1 if you remove the LT5.

I'd love to get one with a bad engine and drop in a LS 9 engine in it !! Use the LT5 for a boat anchor .

I've got nothing to add to this thread, but I'm REALLY curious to see where it goes next.

The best place to ask this would be in the O.T. section, the people that hang out there are very acknowledgeable in regards to C4 and are more than happy to answer your question.

If you want to do an ls build, why not start with a lt4 based c4??? It would be a shame to hack up a true lt5, they are special and rare cars and should be preserved.... just my 2 cents...

He took your suggestion, but they sent it back. Seems like it was to inane for even them. Sigh, the quality of the trolls has sure declined over the years.

I agree with those who think is would be a waste of a ZR-1 to hack it up to put a different engine than the LT5 in it.

Removing the engine is one thing, turning a ZR-1 into some bubba inspired 70s pro-stock looking vehicle is just dumb.

thread has made its way to 3 sections so far

Op is a troll, not old enough to drive or has no idea what the ZR1 is about

OP if you are serious youll pay more than you ever imagined to do the swap and if it was ever completed youll be burned out and hate the car

anyone that says an LS1 swap is easy and cheap is full of it has never done one or its a total hackjob
