My 91 ZR1 just sprang a large leak of oil the other day and suspect the oil pressure switch has gone bad I am hearing. Where is it located on the LT5 and how to get too? Thanks for your help!

My heart goes out to you. Check my thread "oil overfill effects". My issue was indeed the oil pressure switch. It's a bear to get to without pulling the the oil filter housing, but it can be done. Stay patient and it will go another 25 years without issue!

I just did mine. It was a bear and it cost me some skin off my knuckles but no leaks now. Mine was actually leaking through the sensor itself. Happy hunting.

I suggest going to the parts store and getting the special socket that make for the sensor. You can put a box end wrench on it.

BEFORE REPLACING the Switch, you can tell if it's the Oil Pressure Switch by unplugging the Connector to the Switch. When the Switch is the source of the oil leak, it's always through the Switch & the Connector will be oily.

When it fails, the oil leak is always sudden and significant.
