Bought the car in November. Loving every minute of it

No sir, it's a CR-1. The Sledgehammer was a 1988 C4 that had a twin turbo small block. It went 254 MPH in street trim. A record that stood for some time. The Aerobody kit that's on my car was developed by Paul Deutschman for the purpose of helping the Sledgehammer achieve the record it set by improving aerodynamics.

Would love to put those wheels and tires on my 91 Blk/Blk ZR-1....Tough to find these shelbys.....Nice car enjoy....

Thanks for the great info and photos! What a beast. More like Beauty and the Beast. Those wheels are so cool. They have come full circle and looks like you could have bought them today.


Your C4 has aged very well, imho.

are those aluminum (?) hood latches callaway specific or ?

wheels are Shelby Series 1 18x10 front and 18x12 rear
tires BFG Rival S 275 35 18 front and 335 30 18 rear

in the pic it has a 335 Nitto on the rear

latches are aftermarket and not Callaway specific. I did not install them
