Am I crazy? Thinking of going from blown C6 GS to C4 ZR1...
To start off, I've had 5 Vettes:
92 LT1 6-spd
01 Z06
91 ZR-1 (mildly modded)
03 Z51 convertible
13 Grand Sport (current), which has an A&A supercharger making about 700RWHP.
I've had the 13 GS since new, and have really enjoyed it and driven on a number of fun trips (Tail of the Dragon, Three Twisted Sisters, Arkansas backroads, etc), as well as doing multiple 1/2 Mile (162MPH) and one Full Mile event (187MPH). I've put about 27K miles on it, and it's been fun and reliable. Having said all that, I'm kind of thinking about selling it and getting a C4 ZR-1. The problem with the 13 is it's just another C6 Grand Sport (even with the blower, there are plenty of those around Dallas), and to do any more with it from a power perspective would cost stupid money (i.e. if I wanted to try and hit 200MPH in the Mile). My thoughts on going to the ZR-1 is that it would get me out of always wanting to upgrade to the latest model, and could just be a fun, classic car that I love. I've always loved the C4 (probably because it was the Corvette that was around when I was a teenager), and especially the ZR-1. I loved the 91 I had, but got rid of it due to wanting a single daily driver car at the time (kind of wish I'd kept it now). The 13 GS has not been a daily driver and get's driven maybe once a week, so the ZR-1 would see similar use (now have a 14 Jeep SRT for a daily). If I were to do a ZR-1, I'd try to find one that was already modded so that there wouldn't be much to do other than upkeep/maintenance.
So what do you guys think, have I lost my mind?

Hadn't seen that one, was actually considering a 92 in south TX with a Haibeck 600HP engine.

6 pack in one hand, half a dozen eggs in the other....or so my Italian friend used to say. Would come down to price and condition. The black DRM is original owner I believe which helps but does not state miles. Then again only 8 DRM's were ever made I believe.

I spy a three car garage behind that GS. Do like me have them both. In a sense they are apples and oranges. No comparison. To me the ZR-1 is just special, nothing drives quite like it.

Just 2 car garage, that was our old townhouse. Jeep has to sit outside, but it's a daily. Honestly I just don't see the attraction in keeping both, and I'm basically bored with the GS. Already considered bumping it up to a C7 Z06, but then I'm just going to want to swap that for a C7 ZR1 at some point, then a C8, etc.

My friend bought a new 2006 back when. Asked me to drive it home after some pool. Cranked it up through the gears to about 100 and slowed down. Made pretend it was awesome but honestly it was like driving my Mercedes but a tad faster. ZR1 like my modded C3 are a driver's car. You better be awake and know what your doing or you'll be eating a guardrail real quick. I imagine your GS is the same way but you can actually have fun below 100 in a ZR1 to put a big smile on your face, that is until you try and exit the damn thing.
PS...I hate depreciation!

That's actually a good point on the GS, while it's easy to drive around town, you really can't get on it and use the power. The blower hit's so hard/fast that anything over 1/2 throttle in 1st & 2nd is useless, and I can even spin at the top of 3rd. I've told many people that I honestly had more fun with it when it was in the 570-600RWHP range than where it is now as I could actually use the power.

I indirectly did the same, I bought a new 08 Coupe then put a ECS blower on it. Then the new GS came out, I bought a 10GS then put the same blower on, then headers, cam then meth. Made 724 rwhp. Like you said getting on it at any speed would blow the tires off. Ended up trading it on a new 13 GS 60th, Then we decided to build a new house and traded the GS on a 11 CTSV coup, modded it to around 560 rwhp. Didn't really drive it much with all the work on the house so I sold it. Last year I was looking for another C6 GS and came across the 94 ZR-1 locally. I've always watched out for them for years since I wanted one since they came out. Ended up getting the Z and adding it to the collection and modding it. Really enjoying the car. This one will be a keeper with the others!

Why I am awake?
Anyways, how you describe the ZR-1, "and could just be a fun, classic car that I love. I see my C4 exactly like that, just looking to buy a 92-96 Zf6 car now. You are 100% right about blown C6s being everywhere in Dallas. My C4 is "slow" but damn does it put a smile on my face. Even more so with a zf6. A ZR-1 with headers and porting is awesome. I would go for the ZR-1.
