LT5 spark plug boots giving me fits
Dumb ***, rookie question here...
What is the trick to get the plug boot to pull out of the LT5 head??
I have tried to looses, spin, pry, lift....etc each of the spark plug boots and am not getting anywhere. I'm careful and pulling on the boot and not the wire lest I pull everything apart!
I'm a recovering Mopar guy and the plug boots on the Hemi heads just *popped* out with out too much protest. This has me stumped.
Thanks in advance. I'm sure I'll have more questions when I get to #8.

Just twist it around to make sure that they are not sticking to the plug holes on the cam covers. A good plug boot removal tool helps by providing a good grip. Otherwise, there is no special trick.

When reinstalling, smear on some dielectric grease on the boot so that it's easier the next time.
Good luck!

I use the tool designed to pry out the plastic body "buttons" with a few wraps of electrical tape around the pivot (contact) area to avoid chipping the paint. No more problems pulling those boots anymore.
Then use dielectric grease to flood the end of the boot, and spread some along the length - especially along those ribs along the sides of the boots.
(Check back here later, and I'll try to post a pic of the tool.)
