Northstar Automotive? That name has never come up as ZR-1 competent shop. I’m in the process of compiling a national listing of shops known to work on the LT5 engine over on the ZR-1.net forum. I will look into them.

The fact remains that the state of Kalifornia expects a 27 year old car to meet emissions regulations it was never designed to meet. At best having to meet emissions regulations that only a brand new LT5 engine and emissions system can meet. They simply want old cars off the road because of the climate change mantra they believe in!

They need to stop making cars that last. Get back to cheaper more disposable cars if they want old cars off the road. Cars designed to run 250k+ miles are not just go away.

What I don't like on the newer cars like the C7 is that there are so many damn computers, sensors and wiring...wait til they are 27 years old and then try to troubleshoot one. Or have a mechanic look at it. Good Luck!!!!

What I love about the C4 is that there is one pretty basic computer with less than a dozen or so sensors that basically keep the car in tune very accurately. If the engine is running rough...probably a bad sensor! Very easy to fix and diagnose!

Now my C3 is a different animal. Loud, obnoxious and even with a new higher end carburetor does not run that well until it is fully warmed up.

My C4 and all the C4's I have had always start right up and basically operate without any issues! And those 80's body lines with the John Cafaro hood are timeless!!!!
