Sweet sounding LT5
Couldn’t tell as it was dark. Could not see the odometer speed and Dash looked like early ZR-1
Would love to try that

Boy Paul that is a nice looking car. I love the colour.
Back in the day when the LT5 was launched, am i correct in that were very few engines that could match its durability for events such as this? Would the lt5 have had a massive advantage in a competition like this back in the mid 90's?
And still today, would the LS infrastructure engines be able to handle the constant high speeds as much as an LT5 can?

All GM V8 engines have to pass the same durability standards; 400 hours @ WOT, cycling between tq peak and hp peak. There are plenty of pushrod Chevy's; SB, BB, Gen I, II, III, and IV running around in boats and trucks (high load, lots of WOT) to prove that they're ALL durable and reliable.

The Siver State classic is not to far from me. Once my car is back to full health I may have give it a try. Last I looked they had stock classes where speeds were (somewhat) limited.

Your rookie run will be limited to the 110 class with a tech speed of 124 mph when properly equipped. The exception to that will be
documentation that you have high speed driving experience from any number of places where that kind of experience can be gained.
it could be a driving school or other events held in other states like the Sand Hills Classic that is run in Nebraska. Once you have completed
your rookie run you can move up to the 150 class with a tech speed of 165 mpg. Yes, it gets interesting as you pass the 150 mph mark and
you realize that if you were to go off the road for any reason at that speed you will most likely be upside down at some point before you stop.
Charlie Friends 65 Corvair ( mid engine SBC power ) does a face plant and then some as another unlimited 350 Z car was already broke down while the camera was rolling.
Go to 2.25 for Charlies tumble.
