OEM TPMS Bands are the only ones that work so your options are limited

Check with Jerry's Gaskets first, if he doesn't have them then check with Marc Haibec.

What happens if you just remove them, does it throw any codes, etc.

Is it a car that has an anticipated future with NCRS or Bloomington Gold Judging?

If so, mortgage the house if you have to in order to buy a hard to find replacement.

If however you have no such aspirations, simply leave it out, and have the bulb removed.

On cars that are driven, especially if driven hard, I am far more concerned over this style of band mounted sensor coming apart and thus becoming an eight ounce weight flying around at crazy speeds within the tire.

If the car is driven around town not much of a concern, but if driven at high speeds, well, you can think about what could happen.

Lastly, even a car destined for judging, does not need to have EVERYTHING perfect to Top flight. You decide if it is worth it to you to spend the money for a replacement in order to get a few more points, and weigh that with the risk you are taking.

If one band has already self destructed, others may follow.

I have removed far too many pieces of sensors from tires to suggest someone find another 25+ year old replacement and put it in there.
Hope that helps.

Now I am scared that mine still work. Maybe I should remove and sell them to pay off my mortgage

Marty is right on the money here! If your not going NCRS take them and the bulb out. Put them aside for the next owner. You don’t want to be going 100mph and have one come apart. It’s ultra rare that that happens. But I personally don’t trust plastic that old.

$275.00 is the cost for just the green sensor.
While he shows all four, just the one is for sale in that listing.

Looking at that old plastic in the picture of the bay listing, it reminded me of a toy I had as a child.
It was a small globe like ball with a fuse coming out of the top.
you would set it and it would start ticking.
You then passed it back and forth hoping you were not the one holding it when the ticking stopped.
Some of you may remember it.
It was called TIMEBOMB.

I hear ticking.............................

Gary, I have a complete set of 4 sensors with bands that I am thinking of selling. All correct (4) individual colors for each corner of the car. Removed from a ZR-1 a while back. Feel free to PM me if you are interested.

Yours have been removed and tossed?

If there was someone in the vicinity that had what would pass the NCRS requirements (tires/wheel) I'd rent them to accomplish the task.

To buy, there certainly should be later sets available and I'd think also 'reasonably' priced.

A very long time ago I saw (I thought) a diagnostic for the Piezo battery and also a recondition/repair of the same. I really think it might have been KW!!

What you generally see mentioned 'for sale' are those with folks who have 'great expectations'!!! Dreamers if you will!!

They're looking for YOU!!!
