In 2018, this would be the equivalent of finding a mid year 427 435 car that could use a restoration after playing with it for quite awhile, and more importantly, getting it for a fraction of what it once was priced at as well as below what it would become as time passed.
Buying a comparable "pre-driven" 67 in 1990, was also a very good plan both from a pleasure and economic perspective.
ZR-1's are easily good for 250k miles before any heavy duty work if maintained properly.
So buy it;
Drive the wheels off of it;
Then, someday restore it;
And all the while, enjoy the heck out of it!

don’t part it out. Take it to car max. They might give you 8 to 10k for it.

If I had the spare cash and less than 14 cars already I'd be happy to buy the car. I'd love to have it!

Wish I did. The last Corvette I have after I sold the rest is an 86 4+3. Great driver quality car but I wouldn't think of even offering it and cash for yours. Yours is such a wonderful car that deserves a great home.

Don't give up on the sale yet. It may take a little while to attack the right buyer. And, I'd hate to see you part it out either.

Wow what a deal. I would hold off on parting it out. Tax return time. Why do these deals always have to be on the other side of the Country? Want to drive it to NY? Lol

thanks for the positive message...Its been a long couple of weeks
trying to give this zr away...had forum memebers send a variety of emails...some insulting but some quite laughable.... one of the best started out really good......
Hi bob
1. is there a clear top for the vette
2. original zr1 paperwork with the car?
3. is the windshield original or proper one for the ZR!

SO FAR GOOD QUESTIONS...THINKING TO MYSELF, dam car is 9k WHY NOT MAKE A PHONE CALL ...THERE A BUNCH OF PICTURES 12-15
BUT IT GETS BETTER
4. will be in Los Angeles next week (visiting from Canada)
5. would like know what your very bottom line price would be?
( I have to factor in exchange rate 30% and transportation to if, overall price would work for me)
let me know
thanks (name withheld)

I POLITELY RESPONDED THAT HE SHOULD CHECK THE EXCHANGE RATE FIRST AND MY PRICE IS 9K US, AND only CALL IF THAT WORKS FOR YOU/HIM

9k for a high mile , no accident, no curb damage on the wheels (none), nu clutch , clean fax, good engine, trans, 373 gears, radio works, original paint, glass intact, headlights work, no check engine light , newish rubber and bushings....

Is there a thread or has there been a thread on How to communicate with the seller ?????? especially if it is extremely reasonably priced?
On the lighter side, had 2 phone calls today that were extremely
pleasant and promising, but they were from the c4 forum ....

I think the price is more than fair and I would personally hold off on parting it. Give it a little time. You'll find the right buyer. Plus, you may sit on it longer if you part it. You[ll find a buyer for the common stuff and then the shell and smaller bits may not sell so fast and there's a chance you will not have made 9k on the common stuff. I'm in the middle of restoring my 88 10th Anniversary RX-7 or I would seriously consider this. But that's a project I need to finish honestly.

Curls up in ball: "I don't need another corvette, I don't need another corvette."

Seriously, this is a good car and priced very well. It'll sell.

Make another listing in the "C4's for sale" section - It should go quickly.
