1991 ZR1 LTP Sensors: Are they specific to each wheel?
Good day CF C4 ZR1 bubbas,
Have a 1991 ZR1 with a fully functional LTPS system, but the rear sensor bands broke and one of the sensors broke.
As the title says, is each sensor specifically for each wheel, or are they the same? I want to replace the one that broke (orange label, right rear if I recall), but can't tell through searching the forum whether they are different for each wheel or the same. Any insight is appreciated, thanks in advance.

Each one is separate and a different color. Many opinions on TPMS on these cars. My 1990 works fine as well but I personally doubt I will fix it if it breaks. Try e-bay...pricey and used and old used antiquated electronic crap at that.

Unless your doing NCRS, take them out and remove the bulb from the DIC. They are an accident waiting to happen. Think about it, 28 year old plastic the size of a pack of cigarettes spinning at over 100 mph at times! Possibly damaged already by tire changers who are clueless. No thanks. BTW on 90-92 you don’t have to remove the bulb.

Thanks for the replies. Makes perfect sense that they are specific to each wheel. Why would they keep it simple?
Fyi - I've gone without the LTPSs on custom wheels for several years, and also did not have to remove the bulb on my 91. As for this car, it's on the market, so I will likely leave the LTPS decision up to the buyer.

There's one on ebay for $250
It looks like 90 - 92 uses the same sensor. If anyone can confirm that, I have an orange RR sensor off my 90 that I can send you (cheap).

I have a left and a right wheel sensor for my 90 model. The right rear sensor isn`t on a band but if I can trade the right sensor to a good band I have, you can have it for free. I consider its value as zero. I`ll never run another sensor.

I have a 1990 with one bad TPMS...right front wheel. I have no desire to spend over $200 for a new sensor. Is there a way to extinguish the light on the warning panel without smashing it with my fist? lol

Remove the counsel around the shifter (I think 3 screws which are 7mm).
Remove the Bezel around the radio, DIC panel (I think 2 torx screws above on vent and a 7mm screw above to right of bezel and two 7mm screws below).
After 7mm screws removed from Bezel....you need to encourage the Bezel out as there are expandable clips that hold it in after screws removed.
Remove DIC panel (I think 7mm screws again) and you will find where the bulbs are push in type (on the back side of an additional panel I am thinking)....just pull out the appropriate bulb.
Do not quote me on the screws but it is obvious and relatively easy job. DIC is Drivers Information Center.

Just took a full set of TPS sensors off of my '90, I'll gladly let them go for a song (compared to eBay and Rock Auto).
Very low miles, 14,300, like new.
