ZR-1 ignition module needed

FWIW any year 90-95 will work. The trick is finding one. I just sold one recently to someone who’s unit was bad. One trick to locating a unit is to look for wrecked cars. Especially if you have access to Copart auctions. Two have recently shown up. A yellow 95 in California and a black 90 in Hawaii. Track down who bought them and ask.
Good luck.

IIRC, Jerry (Jerry's Gaskets) was looking into developing a source for new modules. It would be worth a call to find out.
And, I wonder where/what MEGASQUIRT can offer in lieu of a DIS module?

You for sure will need to go coil on plug and I thing the gm ecotec 4 coils might be close enough to work and I remember someone posted about some "merc marine" boat coils.
I think Jerry will get his new part online, but with the price of the megasquirt going down and having a really nice set of capabilities, it's looking better all the time.
coil on plug is better imho

that's where I'm headed. I'm going to try and piggy back one in rather than the raptor approach so the mileage and security system will still work.

Megasquirt price going down? last I heard the Direct replacement megasquirt ECM was around $2500-3000

the MS3 pro is about 1400 but you will have to piggy back into the stock wiring
the direct replacement is a raptor deal where you unplug the factory ecm and plug in the MS but you loose the interfaces into the mileage and security
not a big deal, the plug and play is nice as you can eliminate the hassle of the wiring which is what I hate most!

As I understand it, the MS unit still needs the ICM to run the motor. It does not replace the ignition module.

Yes, it will allow you to replace the factory ignition system. You want a 58X crank trigger with a set of LS1 coils on the valve covers, the MSPNP Pro will do that.
