Default Heater Core 😥

Got a leaker in my 1990 ZR1. Who makes the best replacement? Aluminum or copper better? I alway use distilled water mix.

I don't personally have an answer for you, but I might suggest you talk with Marc or Bob Haibeck. They have replaced a fair number of heater cores. It is not a particularly easy job but they have a lot of experience doing it and can probably both offer some technique advice and recommend the best replacement unit. --Bob

gordon is the man on heater cores

you can do it the way the "book says" and it's a cast iron beeeotch to do

or use "gordon's method" and it's not too bad

I'm not really sure what the trick is, but he wanted to put in the manual and it didn't make it because I think you have to do a bit of cutting to make it work.
