FS: Transmission; Update; Correction; Price Reduction
Sorry for the confusion, but both Paul and I are over 50-60 respectively, and after not dealing with these parts for over a decade the memory gets a little foggy.
After looking at the trans I got from him and the post earlier, I could tell he was mistaken on which one I was talking about. It is NOT a NOS GM liquidation unit. It is a Bill Boudreau ZF-Doc rebuild with 0 miles since rebuild. It was taken from Dennis Echolm's '94...... so I still have a great transmission for sale, and I will lower the price accordingly. The main thing is I want to represent it accurately! To recap, a ZFDoc, Black label, rebuild 0 miles which matches what Paul told me when I got it. I'll be checking PMs
$2900 OBO

Burning Brakes
Just to confirm please:
It's a rebuilt black tag (stronger gears) but with a '94 (late model used on blue tags) input shaft? Meaning a direct replacement to blue tags?
How long has it been on the shelf since rebuild?
Ted

I assume this is an intact, black tag, BB ZF-Doc rebuild, never ran....so it would be presumably better than stock for a good price. Like I said the other situation simply doesn't make sense? I edited out "'94" above if that helps

Ted, I'm just trying to figure out what you are asking? I'm trying to imagine a scenario in which someone would swap a black tag input shaft for a blue tag input shaft? And then do what with the black tag shaft put it in the doner blue tag?

What you have is a 90-92(plus some early 93 models)(black tag) transmission. These transmissions had the large diameter “collar”/“guide tube, 1.375” diameter”
the later 93’s, 94 & 95 (blue tag) had the small diameter “collar”/“guide tube, 1.312” diameter”.
All of the transmissions are interchangeable. It only takes the correct throw out bearing for the collar/guide tube.
The input shaft on all 90-95 models is the same.
Since your Z is a 94, the original transmission has the small diameter collar/guide tube. Aparrently, SW or Paul had the small diameter collar/guide tube installed on the spare trans so it would be a in-out swap with no need to carry a large i.d. Release bearing for the spare trans. NOTE: the input shaft is the same and would not have been changed.
Hope this clears things up a bit.
You have a great, ZFDoc built trans. Will make someone a very good deal.
