Default 91 ZR1 Barrett Jackson

A nice 9300 mile original 91 ZR1 just sold for $26,000.00 a few minutes ago. It was a nice clean example.

I went Sunday to preview the cars and was surprised to find a fair majority of the cars look much better on TV then in person. This ZR1 was nice but was not as clean in person. There is a white 1996 LT1 coupe that surprised me how rough it was. Weatherstripping was half missing and the torch red interior was not that great up close. Course the reason I went on Sunday was so I would not do something stupid like buy another car I could not afford.

I sent a video of the live steam to my wife and she said looks like I paid too much for my car. I told her the Haibeck 510 package was 10 k and I wanted more H.P. than a stock car. But what you say is true you need to see a car in person.

Thursday a 1990 Red ZR1 with over 9,000 miles just sold for $24,000.00 . Does anyone know what the seller will net after fees? Also what does it cost the buyer after their fee?

seller pays 8% and buyer pays 10% or 12% if you buy on phone or internet.

These auctions are buyer beware and yes TV lies. Now on top of that a friend told me tonight that he purchased a car at Mecum Kissimmee in 2018. Not only do you add 10% to the price but you have to pay sales tax on the entire total. So if you are high bid at $25000 then add bidders fee of $2500 so you are now at $27500. Now at least in Florida (but I bet most states) you now pay sales tax on $27500. Just keep that in mind when bidding.

sales tax on the commission? That’s as bad as GMAC wanting to roll the sales tax INTO a loan with the out of state dealer collecting the tax at time of sale. I tried to scratch check for the tax & they wouldn’t do it. So I decided to wait a year and scratch a check for the whole damn thing!
