Default 1990 ZR-1 inquiry.

My favorite year is the 1990 and my ideal car is black with black interior, however, for the right car I am open to other colors.

I missed out on a 1 owner 17k mile red with saddle interior for $17k (bone stock) and have kicked myself ever since. A close family friend had a red with red interior 1990 and I loved that car. That cur burnt in a garage fire and the glass top was in his house so I bought it for my dad who has a 93 coupe LT1 car. I also missed out on a nice black with gray interior 1990 that I should have bought.

Recently I started looking again and though I am not dead set on getting one IF I find a great deal I will pick one up. That leads me to this car.

http://www.ecoastcc.com/Car/16454

It's not my favorite color exterior or interior but it is the twin of a family friends car and it's the first LT5 car I ever drove. So I sort of have a soft spot for it. It has the right mods for me. What I don't want is one that is hacked up and this one looks pretty solid with the normal stuff, gears, Air Intake, exhaust, chip....etc

Anyone know anything about it? Or heck, know of any other cars that don't cost an arm and a leg but are in good condition?

Whatever car I get will be driven, not a lot, but maybe 1-2k miles a year max unless I take a long road trip.

Unfortunately it doesn't list it. My preference is an early VIN number but not a necessity.

I contacted them so that's one of the things I will be asking. Great reminder, thank you.

If I were you I would seek out a car that belongs to a Forum or ZR-1 Net Registry owner. You will get honesty and an accurate assessment of the car. In addition, any car that belongs to an enthusiast is usually going to have a stack of maintenance receipts, a history and probably not be needing very much at all. Theres a nice Green/Tan 91 on the Registry right now... nice car around $22k Looking for the cheapest one isn't always the best policy... look for the one with a good owner and a good history.

Correction... its a 91 but only 24k miles

Not looking for the cheapest. The cheapest for the condition it's in is my goal. If it's a great deal at $17k that's good, it's a great deal at $25k that's ok, too.

I have more money going into a stroker LS motor than that car is in the link I posted. I'm not going to go cheap just to go cheap.

$18,000 is a good price for a 37,000 mile car, although that seems to be the average color combo car migh be worth a little over $20,000.

Looks like the clear roof has some scratches. I couldn’t tell if they were cracks.
good luck.

I've been casually considering whether to sell mine. Mostly due to storage space problems. It's bone stock original except for the Haibeck Chip. One owner car till last October when I bought it. 22k miles. Red/gray. $19,500 in San Diego. California car. Zero rust/corrosion etc. Let me know if this interests you.

Interesting. Is it "black" or gray interior. It looks dark.

Still waiting on info from the own I linked to as well. Turns out it's 25 minutes from one of my plants.

I also have a 1990 Corvette L98 with the Red/Grey combo. I first seen it on an IROC and when I decided to get a Corvette instead, I remembered the combo and ordered it like that because I liked it so much. Later in the year I ordered a second vehicle in the same color combo. The second vehicle was a 1991 Ford Ranger. When I replaced the Ranger, I bought another vehicle off the lot and as luck would have it was the Red/Grey combo. I investigated a C7 Red/Grey, but the Grey was way too light. I would like to add this ZR-1 myself but I am out of room also. Champ I see you have a GT350 which is another car I am interested in also and I am sure the others are too. Could you give us a brief comparison of the two cars? In the meantime, I am linking a video of my car which a lot of you have seen already but it shows the Red/Grey combo in the video. Please note the video was shot several years ago and it is in standard def and 4 by 3.

Champ one additional note. In your ad you mention that it is painted red in between the blades of the rims. Hard to see in the photo. This was a somewhat come practice on 1990 Corvettes. Now the chrome rims on a 1990 I don’t ever remember seeing that in person ever.
