Finally did it.
Just bought a 91 Z, red w/saddle, with 80k miles, for $11,800. Been looking for a loooooong time.
The z market is very interesting because most people dont drive them it seems. Many cars with low miles and very high (and warranted) asking price. Very few mid-level mileage cars that are well maintained. I want a track car. I want a street car. A driver basically so it ruled me out of the low mileage cars cause i would have hesitated driving them. I did hesitate on some real high mileage cars for rediculously cheap, and i kicked myself for it.
in fact, my first experience with this car is going to be flying many thousands of klms away and driving home. which ofcourse, i will document here for all to see haha.
this one needs nothing except the the seatbelt restraint device light is on. Im sure i can handle that. paint is good, been resprayed once.
so not a garage queen, its going to be a track queen, my wife and i recently joined a local hpde club and we will have our 86 L98 4+3 and this 91 zr1. Let the fun begin!!! I am giddy like a school boy at christmas.
We should place bets right now on the trip from Toronto Canada to Calgary Canada. will it make the trip without a breakdown is the question???
oh! another cool thing is that this is a canadian car. so is the 86. they have the z31 rpo. and z49. ive only seen those on canadian cars. Not that it matters but its cool to have the cars be originally cdn cars.
We will be selling our 87 auto.
cant wait to dive into the lt5. been reading hotb and bought the lt5 supplement.

Congrats! Glad you could make it happen. Sounds like you found exactly what you were looking for. Make sure you stop by the Registry Forum and introduce yourself if you haven’t already. Looks of good info and folks there too.

Congrats to a fellow Canadian!! Toronto to Calgary is as much mileage as I expect to do all summer! Good luck on your long haul.
I picked up my '91 black on black Canadian car last week and haven't had chance to use it much with the crap spring we're having.
I was debating buying one in the GTA and driving it home to Montreal until I found a clean and cheaper low-mileage one locally.

if anybody in here is interested and doesn’t hang out in the general section, i’ve posted a thread dedicated to the adventure i embark on tomorrow to drive this Z home.
