Default Adding a Callaway Areo Body to a 95 ZR1 - Value impact

Hello,

Would like to get your opinion on this. I have a 95 ZR1 with minor bolt ons. I.E. HRE 19" Rims, B&B Triflow, polished exhaust, Slotted rotors, 49th Street side rocker panels, 49th Street painted front spoiler and plished Grand Sport Calipers on the front. I have all original rims and rockers in a box. I have the opportunity to get a Callaway Areo body installed. My question is would this adversely effect the value of my car if I ever wish to sell it. It currently has 19,000 miles, I am the original owner. I have always loved the look of the Sledge Hammer/ Callaway Areo body.

Thanks for your feedback.
Regards,
BR :)

Sounds great,Ben. How much is the aerobody kit and installation going to cost you?

The last Aerobody I know of that was fitted was a bit over 10g's in paint / fitment PLUS the cost of the Aerobody itself.

This was done at the Final Finish in Branford, CT who did many of the Callaway Aerobodies during production and is a top notch place - Been there, seen the work!!!!!!!

To answer the original question, Adversely affect value ~ NOPE, it ADDS to the value in my opinion

Hope it works out!

fender flares on the c-2 c-3 cars... What did it to the value of them?

I think it went down..

I think if you like the look then go for it !

What will it do to the value ? I would say that the value of your car would not be more than a stock car. the better the install the more likely people will pay more @ resale. A poor job and your car will be worth less than a stock one

forget the callaway its too much trouble to get it right due to shoddy materials and workmanship. The shinoda lookalike kit that Terry Hahn is working on and we will market will be a class act. Quality glass bolt on and paint . Ask a aerobody owner how much body filler it took to get theirs ready to paint

It will make it more valuable by about 10k...at least that'd be my guess. While a lot of people like the 95s stock, the callaway aero is quite popular and will pull more money (even if fewer potential buyers).

Note that it may cost you twice this much to have it built...depending on cost of kit and level of prep/paint...

I would love to have your 49th Street items as soon as you take them off!

According to ASPS dealer pricing as of June 2003 issue for Callaway it says to add $1.5K to $2.5K for the Aerobody package. I do not think you would get your money back and depending on the new buyer it could hurt or help the price. I personally like the Aero and if you like it I would do as you please with the car. I have seen other cars that have body kits such as Lingenfelter or Callaway some with no mods others with mods done by a company other then LPE or Callaway, I do not believe that the body kit makes it a LPE or Callaway car but that IJMO.

Is that with an OEM grade paintjob or uber-museum-super-duper job? :D

Ben has owned his 95 since new so I don't think he will be thinking of selling it any time soon. He has wanted a Callaway Aerobody ZR-1 for a long time so my advice is to go for it.

Just me 2 cents, but there's some pretty good deals out there on Aerobody Callaway twin turbos. Why not spend a little more and have 2 great vettes. The Callaway will most likely go up in value anyway.

the finish on that car is AWESOME!! I will be adding more pics of it to the page I linked above

If you were at Carlisle in August, You saw the car (New York tags)

Dave @ The Final Finish does a super job and yes, the entire car was repainted to match even though it had 4 thousand miles on it

The Final Finish did the aerobody and paint on the Callaway of the Month for September too. It was also at Carlisle. ;)
