**** Brand new ZR-1 Corvette ZF 6 speed transmissions for sale ****
'Morning
Many of you are part of the ZR-1 Net, along with the CorvetteForum.
If you're not part of the ZR-1 Net you should be.
But a lot of you aren't, so I thought I would tell you about a great deal
which is being offered by Chevrolet, and by a local New Englander
many of you know.
Chevrolet had a 100% NEW overrun of ZR-1 6 speed ZF transmissions.
Many dealers are offering them for sale. Peter Bernard of Mass. is
offering a great deal on these for ZR-1 owners. These are brand new,
not rebuilt transmissions for $2300.00 !!!!!! From what I've heard,
the parts to rebuild one of these if damaged can go over $3000.00.
If anyone has any interest, e-mail him at PBVETT@AOL.COM
and he'll e-mail ya' back. For anyone that doesn't know him, Pete
has been a Chevrolet parts guy for years here in Mass.
And not a bad guy either
Thanks for listening,
Mark B.

Re: **** Brand new ZR-1 Corvette ZF 6 speed transmissions for sale **** (ZR-1 Mark)
Chevrolet offered a sale on the ZFs through a dealer a few weeks back. $1800 for either the LT1/LT4, and LT5. The dealer put 10% on them, so they went for $2k plus shipping. I ordered one. I thought someone posted on that here a few weeks ago.
$2300 is still a good deal. Are they the 93-95 trannys or are they the earlier ones?

The part number is correct....
They are '95 tranny's that will fit the earlier models.
They also come complete with a shifter.... A 1995 shifter, the one
that you do not have to pull up on the "ring" to get the car in reverse..
Thanks men,
Mark B.

I hear they are showing up on E-Bay for $3K or so. Even at that price they are a good deal, considering that the cheapest you could get them before the selloff was around $3300 dealer price.
These things are like real estate. They just aren't making any more.

Yeah what you are refering to was the actual internal auction that gm held with its delears, Now you can get the trannys through the ZR1 net sponser tom henery chevrolet, Ill doubt if you talk to your friendly local dealer you will see this tranny for $2300 but I might be mistaken, I think if any of you have the cash jump on this deal right now just for that little bit of insurance

I just got off the phone with Peter, and he said that he will have
12 tranny's available on May 10th. And that he could possibly
deliver them to Carlisle if necc.....
Again, e-mail him at PBVETT@AOL.COM if you have any interest.

People always say "Gosh, you're so lucky you live in Hawaii". Sometimes I don't know about that when it comes to shipping stuff here.
My local dealer just quoted me $2,350 to get this tranny and I guess that is a good deal. I imagine if I buy if from anyone in the mainland (that is what we call Continental US here) and have it shipped it would be the same or more.
I just don't know about spending $2350 to sit around until the day I need it. I guess its like insurance. I really love this ZR-1 and want to keep it for awhile so I guess I better fork out the cash. I only have 50K miles but I guess you never know. It seems very good and have not had any problems with the tranny. I don't have the ability to get it locally rebuilt here. I can't even find a dealer that has a certified ZR-1 mechanic here on the islands.
Lucky I live Hawaii!!!! Where I can't get over 100mph in a ZR-1 because of too much traffic and not enough open roads.
