I don't know why they're featuring the car on their website(this was the article that was in the july 2000 issue ), but, hey, I won't argue--they can feature it as many times as they'd like--I won't mind

P.S. It's the black one

Cool <g>... there's only one problem. You got a 13.7@106 and you let them print that?
At that time the car had a problem w/ the vacuum canisters that wouldn't hold proper vacuum to keep the secondaries open--so it was a PIG!!!
The car ran significantly better after I got that resolved, but I had already started modyfying it, so I never got a true representation of what it would really do stock
One thing's certain now...It ain't a PIG anymore [img]http]//www.corvetteforum.cc/ubb/wink.gif[/img]

Nice article on your car "GTB/ZR1". And only 19,000 miles!
You have to watch these mag write-ups. I went to the Vette-Viper shoot out a few weeks back and the on line mag managed to print my worst time of the day (the run where I missed a shift) in the article. Seems that they must have been busy doing something else during my 5 faster other runs.

Thanks guys!
I just got off the phone w/ Aaron @ SGC. The short block is all together and he is now installing those rumpity-rump cams.
He antipates the car to be running by next weekend possibly.
I can't wait to get it back & see what it'll do.
It made 414RWHP N/A & 530RWHP juiced before surgery(bad compression in 2 cylinders & stock throttle body).
My hopes? 450-460RWHP & 575-590RWHP on the bottle

My guess is your car will kick some serious butt when you get it back from Aaron.
Maybe you can give me a ride when I come down to Georgia for our LT5 Registry "Southeast Regional Meet" in September.

George. let me know how it takes the Nos on pump gas. I'm in the same boat as you. I'm hoping for the dry to be able to be used with pump gas. I lowered the jet to #55 on the nozzle (125 hp). 104 unleaded for the fogger and nothing but 112 octane for both stages.
Let's see how the 12:1 handles the NOS and pump gas. Please keep me posted.

Julio and George, have you heard anything about John Stewart's 'next generation power booster?' It's a gas additive, sounds like a good idea especially for nitrous cars. Claims it raises the octane equivalent to 20% (I think thats what they claim, although it sounds high). Anyway it adds 3-5% hp on naturally aspirated appls and up to 20% on nitrous cars. Cheaper than running 104 unleaded if it works. I want to try this stuff myself, although I'm still all motor. check it out: www.nitrouswarehouse.com

Clint,
I'll give you a ride in it--a 1/4 mile ride
Julio,
I'll keep you posted how it handles the nos, although I might run some cam2 to make certain I have enough octane.
368,
I'll look in to that additive, thanks for the heads up.
