Default Looking for a great father and son project car?

You are looking at a wrecked 1998 Corvette...Pewter with Burgundy Int. The car has 56,672 miles. It also has brand new tires....NITTO 555's with just a few hundred miles on them. The car is all stock. The car starts and drives. All wrecked parts have been taken off of the car, there are many small parts that can be salvaged off the wrecked parts.

The title of the car is clear because insurance was never claimed; the car can be fixed and still have a clear title.

The parts listed below are all of the parts that need to be replaced that I could see.

Seems like you'll end up spending to put it back together what you could have spent to buy a lower mileage c5 and at the end of the day, you've still got a salvage car.

Probably better luck in c5

Considering one of my customers just bought a 2004 for $23K, I think that when the dust settles, you'll have an unreliable salvage vehicle that's worth half of what you'll have in it.

Good luck to you!

You might have better luck parting that thing out, which in itself could be a fun father/son project. If only my father liked cars...

I don't know, but that's a ton of work. Think about listing all the parts, taking pictures and emailing them to the zillions of people who will ask for them, taking parts off, finding boxes, then shipping them. What about large items like the engine/trans, rear hatch, etc.? How will you ship those? Then what will you do with everything that's left over?

Your best bet may be to get it fixed and then sell it. If it costs $6,000 to fix you'll be able to get most of your money out of it if you're looking for $12,500 now. It won't have a salvage title, which is very good. Just get it fixed properly and be honest, and you shouldn't have too much trouble selling it in the $17,000-$18,000 range.

The problem now is that you'll have to find someone looking for a project like this, and you'll have to price it low enough to make it worthwhile. Posting your location may help. Also, any frame/structural/suspension damage?
