FS or Trade 92 Red ZR-1

Safety Car
I do appreciate all of the nice comments about my ZR-1. Shamdave if it was not for the cat peeing on the floor mat of your mazda protege I might take you up on it. You just cannot get that smell out of anything.
Since I am trying to sell my ZR-1 to buy my friends 95 ZR-1 I really just want to sell my ZR-1 outright. Not much luck yet. He passed away last year from a heart attack. My friend also has a practically brand new 2009 Red ZR-1 with 2,000 miles on it that is going up for sale as well. I wish I could buy both his 95 and 2009 ZR-1's. Like kenv says the only thing that stops me from being rich is the lack of money.

I do appreciate all of the nice compliments that I have received on my car. I guess I didn't really realize that the market was so depressed for nice low mileage ZR-1 corvettes. I can understand the low prices on the high mileage not so well kept corvettes. It looks like the market is in the toilet for all model corvettes though. I have not had one person contact me about my car. I wll be taking it to a "Make A Wish" Car Show this weekend so maybe I will get a little interest there. I cannot put a for sale sign on it, but they will have a for sale bulletin board at the show I can put it on. It looks like most people can expect to loose $1,000 to $1,500 a month on their new corvette that they buy. Even some of the newer used ones are dropping like a rock. My friends 2009 ZR-1 has dropped $30,000 since he bought it. That is only loosing $10,000 a year. His wife has not even been able to find a buyer at $90,000.

I think the Z06's are holding their value fairly well...especially the first couple years. You can barely find them for under 40K and they stickered in the 60's. Now a new Z06 can fetch a 100K. Crazy. Our ZR-1's are going to still need a few years before they can be a true collector car. I recommend you just hang on to it.

The only reason I am selling my ZR-1 is to buy my friends 95 Yellow ZR-1. He passed away last year. Trades do not work for me. Thanks for the offer!
I didn't realize how bad the market is for vettes right now. Seema like all of them are down. I have been trying to help sell the 2009 Red ZR-1 that my friend that passed away last year had. He paid 119,000 for it and it has not even brought 92,000 on ebay. If someone is seriously wanting a 2009 Red ZR-1 with 1,640 miles on it contact me and I will get you a good deal on this car.

I do appreciate all of the great comments on my car. I love my Red ZR-1, but under the circumstances I need to get rid of my ZR-1 to buy my friends 95. The wife will let me have so many vettes.
At first I was willing to do a trade on a Z06, but since my friend passed away I want to buy his 95 Yellow ZR-1 since his wife is willing to sell it to me.
I am open to offers on mine.
Thanks!

1992 Red/Red with 17,500 miles on it just sold at Mecum in Dallas for $32,000. Nice deal Don and looks to me like you have it priced to sell. Naysayers will tell you otherwise, but don't give it away. GLWS

HammerZR1 thanks for the info.
I am at my low dollar. If it does not sale I will keep it and enjoy it. I just wanted to buy my friends 95 ZR-1 because he was a very good friend and I would love to start showing his car in his memory, buy if it was not meant to be that is the way it goes.

Don, you won't likely remember me but we met a few times maybe 35 years ago, when David and Orville had the shop. I drove up from Lubbock about weekly and got to be pretty good friends with David; in fact, he's the one who turned me on to Vette Views, back when it was just a mimeographed newsletter! Don't I remember you having a red 66 roadster with knockoffs? A tire store maybe? I'm getting old! I had a 67 roadster at the time, but my daily driver was an orange 73 roadster and then a burgundy 74 roadster with silver interior; this would've been 75-76 time frame. And what ever happened to Sloan? For that matter, whatever happened to Orville? I seem to remember him and David having a falling out, but didn't know what it was about; none of my business, of course. Anyway, I'm just now getting back into Corvettes after several years away; bought a 90 roadster "project" and starting to get interested again.
Oh, beautiful ZR! Wish I could! I had a 90, #445 if I recall, back in the day; shoulda kept it. Triple black; loved it. I was shocked to hear about David; hadn't seen him in a while, but always a great guy. Good luck with your sale.
Just had another thought...what ever happened to the Mako Shark?
