Default 1990 ZR1 with 85 original miles whats it worth?

Buddy has a one owner car with 85 documented miles on the clock. Still has the factory wrapping on it.

How much is something like that worth?

I know of at least 4 for sale under 1000 miles and I think value wise under 1000 miles all fall into the same category.

Most are asking low 40's. Some are asking more. They don't move very quick (or ever) at those prices from what I have seen. The issue is you can pick up a 1990 Z for under 20k with under 20k miles. So you really have to want a car that you can't drive because if you want to drive one at all you are way better off getting one with even very low miles (under 10k miles can be had for 30k or less)

Another factor is you have pretty much the pick of the litter because so many people bought them and didn't drive them. Even dealers were buying them and just letting them stay on the showroom floor. If one wants a Z with ultra low miles you can be picky even about color.

Here is another example: http://www.cargurus.com/Cars/l-Used-...sting=87381507

My thoughts as well but 85 miles that is insane, I believe he's looking to get 46K OBO for it. I will post some pictures in a few.

I'm sure this one can be had for 20 but the miles are higher. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-Corvette-CALL-NOW-1994-chevy-corvette-zr-1-6-spd-leather-chrome-wheels-31-k-texas-direct-/191282659578?forcerrptr=true&hash=item2c8955c0fa&item=191282659578&pt=US_Cars_Trucks

The car is worth north of 45K for the current market conditions. It will take the right venue to sale.

Not here...Not *bay

Yeah its been there forever... I agree, I think the ZR1 with 85 miles will bring the money at RM or Barrett Jackson.

It's a matter of time before these cars take off.

If someone wants a c4 ZR-1 now is the time to purchase. Just know what your looking at and what your looking for when evaluating cars forsale.

The car you posted is worth every penny of the asking price and just as you said it will take RS, BJ, even Hemmings is a great resource for advertising such history.

Last year I procrastinated on a midyear that I had been following for sometime, those cars shot up in price again and I paid 15k more for it than I could have bought it for 6 months sooner!

Then you have those deals "you snooze you loose"

Beautiful car your friend has, it's a true peice of history that will never be duplicated.

It had not been painted.

My guess a polishing rag or buffing pad caught it and broke it as they become brittle.

I find it interesting that this 31K mile ZR1 has had six owners.

here is another after another quick search. the C4's that are selling are priced really well. the rest sit. I have seen the same C4 on ebay relisted over and over for more than a year because it's priced too high. The ones with proper prices (read low) sell quickly. There are buyers out there but price is killer these days.

Good Deals for sure, I have never seen either of these cars prior. Then again I typically don't look through Autotrader or Gurus for collector/Investment grade cars as that's my agenda. Hence replying to the OP's post.

Just know what your looking at as stated prior. I see several things with these cars that dictates where the prices are, which have most likely been noted by potential buyers.

They are all over and have been. some examples of sold cars (not necessarily low mile) from eBay. Regular C4's are seeing stupid low sales... here are Z's.

None of those cars are sub 20k cars for under 20k with exception to the first white car.

Just one question for you do you or have you owned a ZR-1? I ask for a particular reason not to engage an attack.

Please don't get offended... I'm not attacking. Just posting some comparisons. I have been blown away at the sales over the past year to 18 months on all C4's.

I have not owned a Z (yet). A few C4's though.

I understand that only one of the cars posted is under 20k miles for under $20k. Like I originally said: you can pick up a Z with under 20k miles for under $20k. I posted an actual sale and 2 more for sale. If you want to be picky, want a rare/specific color, or otherwise you are likely to spend more. I think the steel blue car is an example of that. They only built 54 of them and that makes it the 3rd rarest color. They are hard to find. You will also pay more for newer ones. 93-95 could almost be considered a different car.

Personally I don't think they will really appreciate for another 10 years but that's just my educated guess.
