1995 C4 in Florida, thousands in new parts
UPDATE: Added new pics and a couple of videos at the bottom of the post
Trans issue has resolved itself after using Amsoil
Specs:
1995 White coupe
Six speed manual trans (see description)
About 158K miles
Black interior, gray seats (see description)
Clear FL title in my name
Has been garage kept since January. Bought the car from Ohio, it was in Georgia prior to that. I think I am the third owner.
I bought this car in January from Ohio and had it shipped to Florida. It ran great and the PO had extensive records for it since 2003. I've put about 2K miles on it, and the more I've used it the less I've liked it. In the past it had developed a grind going into reverse. I replaced both the clutch master & slave and this did not correct the problem. Records show the entire transmission was replaced at about 77K miles. UPDATE After using Amsoil for a few thousand miles, it now shifts into reverse w/o grinding.
The car starts & runs great. Cold AC. Antenna, cruise all work.
I've decided it's time to cut my losses and get rid of this car. Will be glad to have it shipped at buyer's expense, that's how I bought it.
Here's what I've done since January:
Cooling
American Eagle 2 core radiator, new 180 degree thermostat
New cooling system hoses, mostly silicone
New overflow tank
Runs 197+/- on hot days in Florida
Fluids
Oil & filter change, 5w30 synthetic
New Amsoil manual transmission fluid
New synthetic clutch fluid
Wheels & tires
Used C6 ZR-1 replica wheels 17x8.5" F and 18x9.5" rear, painted black
New Sumitomo rear tires, existing Goodyear front tires
Have original sawblade wheels & Goodyear rear tires (no front tires) that will go with the car.
Lighting
New bulbs on front & rear (park/tail/stop/turn)
Interior
New seat foam
New leather seat covers- medium gray
Heat inserts (2 per seat) installed when recovered and wired to dash switches- high/low settings
Mirror with LED compass and exterior thermometer, door opener
New Plexiglas top- blue tint
Has liner for Plexiglas top
New weatherstrip- doors, hatch, and top. Door strips properly shimmed to eliminate leaks
Audio & electronics
Clarion NX-702 navigation double DIN radio (see below) Maps & POI updated to June 2015 versions
Rearview camera above tag, works while in reverse
New speakers F & R, fronts modded to Pioneer 6.75" coax
Will include original radio parts
New remote start security system w/ extended range rechargeable remote (Autopage C3-RS-915, not a low end system). This system lets you remotely check the battery volts and inside temperature. You can autostart the car based upon a schedule.
Interior stripped and sound deadening (rubber/aluminum with foam topping) added to entire floor, original carpet reinstalled
2002 Camaro steering wheel w/ radio remote controls
Here are known issues:
Radio front volume/menu controls do not work, has remote & steering wheel controls
Radio screen motor drive does not work- can move screen manually
Right turn bulb in dash is out
Mirror temperature sometimes goes out for a while
Mirror map light button paint worn off, replaced by a label
My price is $6,000 firm. Please only serious inquiries.

My price is $6,500 firm. If it doesn't sell, it will be another project in my garage- seems like a good candidate for a 5.3L Gen 3 truck motor and T-56. May be open to a trade for another manual transmission passenger vehicle in operable condition (no projects)- not a Corvette. Please only serious inquiries.

The wheel is a used part from a 2002 Camaro so I could adapt radio controls. Everything is 100% functional, I even used an airbag with a bow tie.

Bumping this up. I have completed most of the interior work, only one more piece of trim to reinstall. Heated seats work great. Please PM for more info. Please do not quote the original post, as this copies all of the pictures.
