Default 1987 Corvette Convertible

1987 Corvette Convertible $9000.00****Price has been reduced to $7500.00
87,200 miles
Yellow with black top
4+3 manual transmission
The car is located in New Jersey at the intersection of I-287 and I-78.
This car is a very well maintained and preserved C4.
This car was purchased by my father from the original owner, a GM employee, in the fall of 1987. Unfortunately my dad can no longer drive the car.
The car is completely stock except for the following items: dashboard modification to flat panel, splash guards to protect rocker panels, replacement Kenwood head unit.

The clutch has been replaced once.
The digital instrument cluster has just been rebuilt.
I replaced the ignition cylinder and got new keys about a year ago; a common age related problem.
Over the years I remember replacing the alternator, shock absorbers and headlight motors but that is about it. There is a complete service file.
The car has always been garaged and put in storage each year from November to March.
It is time for someone else to enjoy this car. I look forward to speaking to anyone who may be interested.
I can be reached by phone at two oh one six five oh eight three two seven or at iluvgear at the email system run by google.

You should edit your first post so that people see the lowered price right away, otherwise they might not read down this far and realize the price has been reduced. GLWS!

Does the car have any of the handling packages installed?
I've read about C4 Verts having some body flexing issues.
How does it manage in normal driving (non-race) conditions? Is flex a concern?

The car is absolutely stock. The only alterations that I can think of is the Bose head unit replaced with a Kenwood and the flat dash panel , often referred to as "breadbox delete". The car is unmolested.
I think the car drives very well. That being said I don't know of any convertible that is a rigid as a hard top.
I do not know where you are but if close enough I would encourage you to see and drive the car.

Default Re: Flex

I think you will find 87 Verts had a large X brace bolted to the underside to strengthen and eliminate any flex problem. Take a peek you can't miss it.

I thought your initial inquiry was about any aftermarket suspension packages or modifications.
There is the previously mentioned substantial brace installed under the car at the factory to help torsional rigidity. All convertibles, regardless of make, have additional bracing in the floor. The only exception would be a car built on a true frame.
I apologize for any confusion.

Well it has been a while since I have been here. Dad wasn't too happy that we were selling his car and he insisted that he get it back even though he couldn't drive it. He was happy just to see it in the garage. Unfortunately he doesn't even get to the garage any more. The condition of the car is the same, maybe 100 more miles on the clock. The car is for sale. Contact me for any questions or additional information. Thank you.

I had an 86 vert that I bought new, the 87 is very similar, my dad had bought an '87 after driving mine. This is a really good car at a fair price.
Looks like new seat covers and some carpet and it would be a great driver for someone.

I had an 87 vert and loved it. Here is a pic of the X brace:
