Price drop to $2,400
Hi everyone,
The car is still for sale, though I will not be in town to facilitate any sale until mid-May when I will be back home for a few months. Regarding the damage, I will post pictures below that I hope will be detailed enough to give people a good idea of the extent and location of the damage. At any rate, I am willing to lower the price by $500 to $2,400 due to this. The pictures depict the entire impacted area.

Nick, Thanks for the call--you seem like a honest seller, wish I could find a reasonable way to get it to the U.P. Michigan, I'll look at way's and cost, Thanks again Larry

I am reducing the price to $1,800. The battery is now dead but still under warranty. Again, this car is not perfect but it is a running, driving, manual transmission Z-51 pkg car for under $2000. It needs to be picked up at some point this month to be at this price.

Get an open transport, if it cost 4-500 but was what you wanted...worth it.

A bit of bad news here: the vette was removed from my father's street where I had it parked. I am out of town and have no way of retrieving it myself, but if anyone is interested in the car please PM me. I would be willing to get the title to anyone to pick up the car and would accept payment after all is in order. It is not a particularly wise way of doing business or convenient transaction but I would rather have the car go to someone here than to wherever the towing company sees fit. I am flexible on price and I am awaiting a PM from someone else on this matter, but I will hear any offer and will get the title to whoever is wants to get the car. You may need towing from the lot as the battery is likely dead. Again, I am very flexible given the urgent circumstances.

I see a sizeable snag in attempting to sell the car this way. Tow yards will only release cars to the registered owners. If your name is on the title, then you would need to be the one to claim the car. Giving the title to someone else to retrieve the car would not work, as tow yards request ID. The only way another person could retrieve the car would be to take the title, have the car registered in THEIR name, then go claim the car. Who knows how long that will take...most likely at a minimum 2 weeks (at least that's about the time frame that elapses here in Indiana). In the mean time, tow storage fees are being racked up daily. If the car could be driven off, then the yard would also ask for proof of current insurance, but since you say the battery is dead and it would need to be towed off, insurance is moot point. Ownership on the other hand, is a requirement for release.
You or any prospective buyer should absolutely call the tow yard ahead of time to educate yourselves on exactly what's needed in order to retrieve the car. This way any and all surprises are eliminated. Also find out how much those storage fees are as of the day you call, and find out how much per day they will continue charge so you can estimate what the final fee for retrieval will be.
Good luck...I think you're really going to need it in this case!

Yes. You would really need some one to register it and drive it out. That was my plan anyhow, but i wont have the cash or the time off for a couple of weeks.
