1990 Red/Red ZR-1 For Sale
Hello all, I have decided to sell my 90 Z after lots of enjoyment and many smiles.. This is a wonderful car and would like to see it enjoyed by one of the many enthusiasts on this site. Quite a bit to go through here but I hope you appreciate the detail.
1990 Corvette ZR-1 #2815 with 30,664 miles. Bright Red exterior with Flame Red interior. Blue tinted targa top. No mechanical issues with very strong running LT5.
All original fuel injectors have been replaced with new stainless steel units from Fuel Injector connection. All fuel system related o-rings were replaced with viton o-rings.
Factory new in box 5-spoke A-molds (GM correct) were purchased from the family of Jim Van Dorn and installed with Goodyear DSG3 F1 tires. Factory original salad shooter wheels are included with sale.
Mild performance chip installed from Marc Haibeck.
Transmission was sent to Bill Boudreau at ZR51 Performance for a complete teardown and rebuild. He also installed his short throw shifter at this time along with his numerous upgrades to the internals of the transmission. I also have installed his C-beam plates.
At the time of transmission installation I installed a factory new clutch disk and pressure plate from Jim Jandik at Power Torque. Jim also resurfaced the dual mass flywheel at this time. He also provided a new pilot bearing and throw-out bearing for installation. A new slave and master cylinder for the clutch were also installed. Transmission is better than new I would say and shifts like a dream.
The car has an aftermarket cat-back exhaust installed with an x-pipe. I believe it to be a B&B system from the looks of it but I can't find any markings on the mufflers. New oxygen sensors have been installed.
The braking system has been gone through with EBC slotted and drilled rotors front and rear along with their red stuff pads. New brake master cylinder was installed and old fluid flushed out. New front calipers from GM installed.
I have had the plenum off for a cleanup and general maintenance. A new starter was installed about 2000 miles ago. Coils, plugs, and wires have been replaced as has the engine belt. I do have the original spark plugs wires with the LT5 lettering that will be included with sale. No leaks in the vacuum system. I have performed the throttle body coolant bypass mod.
The cooling system has been drained and refilled with green antifreeze/distilled water, along with a new thermostat. All coolant hoses have been replaced with silicone hoses and new clamps from Jerry's Gaskets.
Also I have installed stainless oil cooler lines from Jerry. And various vacuum hoses and PCV connector from him were installed.
The original factory radio has been rebuilt to better than new and all functions work as should. This service was completed by Dr. Don's radio repair. He also installed an aux jack/ phone hookup port to hook up a secondary audio device. A rebuilt CDM was installed. All speaker amps have been replaced and work properly. It's a nice sounding system.
The airbag sensor fix has been performed so no warning light on the DIC.
A/C blows cold and no issues with climate control system. System has been converted to R-134. Windows are tinted. New inner and outer window seals have been replaced on both sides. New rear hatch weatherstripping from Corvette Rubber.
There are no codes or warning lights on. Engine oil used is Amsoil 10W-40 and the differential oil has been changed to Mobil 1.
Both headlight gears have been replaced and the units serviced for trouble-free operation.
U-joints have been replaced in main driveshaft. FX-3 suspension works nicely with no codes.
Lingenfelter open lid air box with K&N air filter.
I have the original window sticker. I have a copy of the window sticker and build sheet laminated. Various phamplets, brochures, and magazines included with sale. Too many to list. Have all factory service manuals and some training videos on DVD.
Snap On code reader scanner included. MT 2500 I believe. Have partial pizza box.
Car is not perfect it does have some minor issues that I just want to be honest about. The lumbar support bladders are busted and will not pump up and sometimes the passenger seat track gear for fore/aft movement slips.
Windshield is original and has slight delamination in upper corners. Have had to use some touch-up paint on spots for front bumper.
Valentine One radar detector also included with sale.
I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country at the drop of a hat right now. Asking $18,500. Thank you for looking.

Would be able to drive it up to Memphis, TN if you would like to look at, it if you would be willing to fly into MEM. Or if you would like to have another forum member that is closer to come look at it and give you a report? I’m not sure what a car carrier/shipper would cost from here to there if you would rather go that route. Just let me know what you are thinking. There are some extras that come with the car that would also have to be picked up/shipped, such as the original wheels. PM me.

Drifting
Now that is how you advertise a nice car, a thorough description and honest disclosure of things that need attention (and they are very few). What a beautiful car and I bet she sells quick!

Why all the work on the transmission? Was it purposely or by due to a tranny that went bad at low miles? Do you have receipts for the work performed?

I had the transmission work done because when I bought the car it was grinding going into third gear and also would pop out of third at times. Yes I have receipts for work performed.

I actually will be in the Memphis area with the car today if he wanted to contact me quickly. I'd be glad to let him look at it. I would need to know something by about 10:30 am central time though before I head back south. Just PM
