Default What's it worth ?

In my relentless search for a Summer every day Corvette I came across an old friends '92 coupe. Bright aqua, auto, BOSE, glass roof etc. and only 9600 1 owner miles. Of course he wants a ton for it, but what's it worth ? All opinions are welcome !!

Thanks,
Mark

Hey - sounds like a beauty of a Vette. Im assuming it doesn't have any upgrades like dual roofs, etc. According to Corvette DNA, your car is worth the following:

In SHOW Condition: $16,100

In EXCELLENT Condition: $10,350

Now I will say this, and it might be more of an "opinion" but Aqua Blue isn't the most sought after color, so regardless of the very low mileage, he may not get alot of interest due to the color.

Personally, if it was me - if you are willing to spend over $10k on a C4 - you might want to start looking at C5's for an extra $5k.

I know red, black and silver are bought and sold all the time but you dont see many bam cars.. so just curious where you saw something about the color not being of interest.

Looked up thread but didn't see that you posted what you actually sold it for.

I would value it between $10k - $12k. I also think interior color plays a factor.

After just spending 3 months extensively searching for a c4 understanding all colors, options, etc. I would agree with this.

People overlook options all the time which his a mistake.. in other words, what I am saying options dont play into it.. which is crazy... the rear end is very important just like choosing a partner .

If you start searching you will see this color is rare, maybe 10%. Everyone is different.. I despise black interiors. There is a buyer for every car. Oddly, lets say this color is undesirable, (which I do not believe it is) then ask the buyer if he was looking for this color.. if he says yes.. then hold to your price and dont budge .

If he says no.. pay no attention, he wont buy it.. he will try and convince himself he can deal with the color but wont be able to .

My opinion is this is a great color but needs the correct wheels..

Anyway.. 10-$12k is dead on for this mileage in what should be excellent condition. In the winter, perhaps as low as $9k. Hold out for spring.

Just remember: this car will likely needs lots of care and feeding if you plan to drive it. More than likely very little maintenance was done. All rubber/plastic products are likely past useful life.

Cars don’t age well just sitting around, they NEED to be driven.
I would ask your old friend a lot of detailed questions on how he maintained it and insured that bearings/joints stayed lubed. Did he always keep the gas tank empty? 370 miles a year isn’t much driving.

$10,000 would be a fair price. Wiring bushing rubber all is 27 years old regardless of miles.

It was super clean had new belts hoses fluids and tires before I got it at 9300 miles. I found out the hard way it was a polarizing color. Either people loved it or hated it. I has the late. I tried to love it because it was different, but it was to much for me. I sold it to a female FYI.

People love and hate all colors.. personally I cant handle red.

Was it that difficult to sell? Remember the c4 is an undesirable car, black, red, aqua, silver, white, green etc.

I don't want to mow your lawn, but if you don't go for that one, do you mind passing the lead on to me? That hits a few of my markers.

Only if you're not interested in it of course!

Thanks in advance, C

One of the best colors in my opinion. What’s the guy asking for it?
