Default Looking for my Brothers old C4 ...

The Corvette was bought new from the showroom at Golden Mile Chev/Olds in Scarborough, Ontario, Canada. The car was grey on the bottom and silver on top with a silver interior, automatic trans, loaded with all the options.

I would think if it has survived it would still be in the Toronto area, so if you have a car in the area that fits the description send me a reply and we can compare serial numbers.

Pretty much like this one ... but with the glass roof.

Thanks folks,

Dave

Have you tried running a Carfax report on the car to determine the last know registration? Really pulling for you that you're able to find the car!

Figured it would be a good place to start. It should tell you the last time it was registered and it would be a lead in the search. Really hoping that the car is still around!

Ok good job with the CarFax, so looks like the car was imported to Michigan in 96 and last saw a DMV update ...

06/26/2013 MI, United States Motor Vehicle Dept. DMV Record Adjustment

Registration issued or renewed

So if anyone in Michigan has any update on the car please contact me.

There's a good chance that its probably in someone's garage waiting on a restoration. You may want to start browsing Craigslist ads in that area. What year is the car? I'm an hour and a half from the Michigan border. I'm always looking for Corvettes and if one pops up that's close to the car I'd be happy to send you a message. May also help to post the last eight numbers of the VIN.

Here is the VIN Tag, 1G1YY0782F5134827. Not a particularly rare corvette just special to my Brother, he sold it to buy his first house.

I made a post on the C4 corvette forum page on Facebook with the car's information and that you were looking for the car and a link directly to this thread. Figured I'd help spread the word in case there were members there that were not members here. Never know if someone out there has it.

You never know when or where they will turn up, so don’t stop looking. I bought a new red 85 on Halloween night 1984, kept it for a year and then sold it. I always missed that car despite the fact that I have had several others through the years. One New Year’s Eve about 5 years ago I was looking on eBay for 85 Corvettes and that one turned up, even had the original warranty book with my name on it in the ad. Sadly it was in really bad shape and it just didn’t make any sense to buy it given what it would have cost to restore. Good luck with your search.

Similar story here. I sold my 92 ZR-1 a few years back.... 2012 IIRC.... a year or so back, I spotted it on Ebay. The guy I sold it to put on some oversized newer Z06 wheels on it and added a flat radio of some kind and some adjustable rear thrust rods for some reason.... Im all about upgrades, but why dik with a near perfect 45k mile ZR-1 that they made 502 of? A dealer was selling it and I thought about buying it back, but I passed on it, knowing it hadnt been cared for like I cared for it.

Jay at vandevere chevy in ohio has a mint low miles 84 2 tone silver that looks exactly like your pic. I believe it's available. Good luck with your search.

Do you know if there was anything about the car that would help identify it based on pictures if no VIN were listed? Any specific scratches or blemishes that would help identify the car?

Actually now that you mention it, when it was a few months old it went in for some work to re seal the intake i believe. We'll the kid at the dealer accidentally got some of the orange silicone on the intake plenum then tried to clean it and it smeared, right side if I remember ... it has been some time though.
