1996 LT4 Collector Ed. coupe, 44K miles in PA
Hi all - I’m selling my 1996 LT4 6 speed Collector Edition coupe that I bought in July 2000 with 3100 miles on it. It now has only 44,150 miles on it. It has never been a daily driver, seen winter weather, or been smoked in or wrecked. I have always babied and maintained it well, and the overall excellent condition reflects that. The targa top has been out of it briefly maybe three times in 18 seasons.
PA classic plate, inspected through 9/18, newer AC Delco fuel pump and sending unit, battery and Nitto tires. The rims do not have curb rash, the original paint shines like new (always hand washed, so no swirls, etc. but has some chips low on the body), the original weatherstripping is nice and the leather has been conditioned regularly. The only mods done 15 years ago are a Hurst shifter and K&N air cleaner/intake. Original parts are included. Have original window sticker and all receipts and paperwork since new. The one-year only Grand Sport LT4 engine is rated at 330 net hp (appx. 400 using old school ratings), so it’s a blast to drive but still quiet and very civilized.
Asking $14,500 based on mileage, condition and the fact that it has no mysteries from unknown previous owners. It’s a great car that I’ll miss, but my collection is outgrowing my garage space. Located near Pittsburgh, PA.

More pics coming shorty...

Would be happy to discuss the car with anyone who is seriously interested or send pics of anything anyone wants to see. I have a little flexibility in my price too, but I won't be selling it for the same price as a high mile LT1 car obviously. Thanks and have an enjoyable Memorial Day weekend.

Very nice CE. I recently joined the C4 family in purchasing my first Vette, also a CE LT4. I do have a question though...in your post you mention the 330 hp being rated in modern day methods as 400. That may the first I’ve heard of that so I’m curious as to your source for that statement. Also, where is PA do you live? I’m in the Eastern Pittsburgh area.
One more thing, having researched the **** out of these cars and looking at endless listings earlier this year, as a buyer, having the RPO codes (or even better, a pic of the RPO sticker) in the listing REALLY helps a potential buyer. GLWTS

Bump, and let's go to $14,500. I'm happy to take pics of anything anyone wants to see or you can call me - just PM for my number. This is a totally reliable, beautiful car that is ready to go. Thanks!

Still available. Will probably have a new PA inspection and be my ride to Corvettes at Carlisle next month if I still have it. I'd drive this car cross-country tomorrow. I've had none of the nonsense issues that people seem to have with C4s, probably since it's always garaged and maintained and I'm gentle on my cars.... Happy to discuss it with anyone who's interested.

I've been following your AD and frankly very surprised it's not sold. Certainly by pictures and write up got to be one of the best examples of an LT4 not to mention a collectors edition. But for health conditions presently in my family, this vehicle would be in my garage. And although not a recommended way to purchase, one would feel comfortable buying sight unseen!
GLWS...as this in my opinion is a great value....

I can't believe it hasn't sold yet either. Honestly I gotta say I'm hoping it's around once I get my Harley sold as I would love to pick this up. Definitely will be looking for you at Carlisle if you still have it by then!

I'm in the South Hills of Pittsburgh. I stated that in old-style ratings the LT4 would be around 400 gross hp. I'm big on net vs. gross info since I have multiple 1970-72 cars. The 1971 270 gross hp 350 is the exact same engine as the 1972 200 net hp 350. A 300 gross hp 350 in a 1969 Camaro is ~240 net hp. The 340 gross hp Olds 455 of 1971 is the same as the 270 net hp 455 4 speed engine of 1972. You're looking at about a 25%-30% delta gross to net (and vice versa). So if you took the LT4 at 330 net hp and took off all the accessories and put it on a dyno like manufacturers did pre-1971/2 for rating purposes, you're coming in around 400 gross old-ratings horsepower. Maybe even a little more. It's likely that someone has actually done this test and posted numbers somewhere.

Someone will be getting a great car for a great price! There will be another LT4 car in someday in my future, just don't have time to drive or maintain the ones I have now. GLWS!
