Im officially ready to sell my 96. ive had it a year and a half and put 8500 miles on it so ive got a pretty good idea of what it is (and isnt)
This is a low option 96 with a power driver seat and the LT4 being the only options. it came with a clear top but i swapped it for a painted roof. i also added a complete set of OEM GS coupe wheels with BFG tires. the wheels have no rash and the tires are excellent.
The interior is clean with no rips or stains. the drivers bolster has minor wear. the rear defroster does not work as well as it should and the passenger side window switch doesnt work (it can be operated from the driver side switch.) the drink holder/ashtray lid cover has a broken hinge. Of course it has the 96 HVAC issue that plagues most 96s. Everything else works as it should. Depending on the amount of time it takes to sell i will try to address the lid and window switch.
the exterior is in overall very good condition. there are a couple of places that could use a touch up and the passenger side mirror needs a respray. the entire car could stand a good buffing as well. the front of the car has almost no paint chips. the weatherstripping is in good condition (hatch is brand new.) The center stripe is vinyl and can be easily removed.
the engine runs smooth and strong. the transmission shifts smoothly as well. The car does not have any leaks.
aside from the window tint and cags the car is bone stock
since i have owned it i have changed the oil twice and have preformed the following
coolant flush
brake fluid flush
new hatch weatherstrip
new HVAC blend door
new front speakers
new headliner
i still intend to refinish the shifter trim plate (finish is peeling) as well as a couple other very minor odds and ends prior to the sale
i am asking $12500 firm. this is a nice 96 that with a little extra work could be exceptional. The wheels, tires and flares are worth close to $2K alone so im offering a sub 40k mile clean title LT4 for $10500 which is close to what people are asking for cars with 2-3 times the miles
