Default 92 LT1/ZF6 - built 383 - Street/Track car

**SOLD** Its with great reluctance I am offering up my well build and sorted black on black 92. It has been built to not only look good on the street, but handle track/autocross duty as well. Some may have seen this for sale previously, but a lot has changed since then. When I last had it for sale, I noticed more valve train noise then seemed normal. In tear down we found the Crane Gold rocker arms roller tip retainers had failed on all rockers (If you have these Crane Golds, pull a valve cover and check them!). So the top end of the motor came apart to update and correct things. Its got several updates along the way, include new platinum plugs (wont need to do plugs for 100k miles!), valve stem seals and spring seats, etc. I learned a lot about how well this engine was built, talking to the owner of The Corvette Shop in CA who did the engine build back in 1998. He remembers EVERYTHING about this car and loved it.

The reason for listing now. After all the work done I decided to pursue auto-x competitively, running CAM-s. The car is very competitive at the local level, but on a national stage, I am unwilling to ruin the street-able nature of the car to make it more competitive. The engine has a small .219/.219 emission friendly cam currently, but could handle something a lot bigger. When build the engine dyno’ed right at 450hp. I bet with a bigger cam and AER headers it could be in the 5-550 range. As it is now, I run very similar lap times around PIR as a C6 Z06 driven by an instructor (me on Hoosiers, him on PSS).

Some key features:
  • 383 Strocker, using Scat crank and forged pistons.
  • Dual springs
  • Titanium spring keepers
  • Ferrado valves
  • Stage 3 ported heads
  • Comp Cam Magnum 1.6 Roller Rockers (no aluminum junk)
  • Shorty Headers
  • Cam – Lingenfelter
  • Complete Borla exhaust
  • Edlebrock BBK Throttle Body
  • MagnaFlow High Flow Cats -- Pass's CA and OR smog
  • 11" width Black A Mold "Grand Sport" OE wheels with NEW tires all the way around
  • VBP 650lb front 350lb rear springs
  • VBP Heavy Duty Strut, Trailing and Toe Rods
  • 1" sway bar in front, stock bar in back
  • QA1 single adjustable shocks
  • Urethane A-arm bushings
  • Newer OptiSpark
  • Red Grand Sport Front Calipers
  • Braided Steel Brake Lines
  • Driver and Passenger Racing Seats
  • Shroth 4 point Racing Harnesses in red
  • Clear top

In tuning for Auto-X, I have learned how great these QA1 adjustable shocks are. I can go from Cadillac boaty, to stiff as a rock. The car previously was so low that it didn’t have enough suspension travel, so I lifted it up about 1”. Still very low/sporty, but not in the weeds as it was. If you want it super low, I can put it back down in about 30 minutes. Interior I would rank as good, with normal floppy door panels, aftermarket seats are not great, not torn up, just sun faded. Body is straight and undamaged, but paint is only ok. It looks fantastic from 5', very glossy, but I think it had a Maaco re-spray at some point that could use a fully wet sanding and chips filled.

That is about all I can think of for now, but I do have a huge amount of documentation on the car from the previous owners.

I am located in West Portland Oregon.. I'm happy to answer any questions. I am also willing to discuss delivery of the car, I would willing drive it up to 1k miles away (maybe more, if east coast meet in the middle?), at buyers expense (gas/lodging/food/airfare home).

Offered at **SOLD**

Don’t waste my time or yours if your not willing to pay my asking price.

While it is a problem to follow the course, its not nearly as bad as it is in video's. You walk the course to learn where you are going, and there are indicators of where to go next. And you should be looking ahead a gate or two, so you have plenty of time to know where to go next.

Event last weekend. Was 3rd fastest raw time, and 2nd fastest with PAX out of 80ish.

This last weekend I did the event at Packwood Wa, where the national events are held for the northwest. A guy with a Camaro ZL1 1LE came out in prep for the national events. I expected him to beat me (my first year) by a mile, with his 650hp monster, but on the first day I beat his raw time, but since he is CAM-C, he beat me in PAX. Day 2 I was just slow, but only lost to him by 1.2 with the pax.

I only got 2 runs on video, of course they were bad runs. Enjoy the power slide in the middle of the first video. The car is so easy to control and manage.

Did a hill climb for the first time. Was a lot of fun, car worked great. Due to the 2 hour drive out, I didn't take my track tires. Even with the 500 wear tires, I still ran within 6 seconds (2:23 vs 2:16) compared to the event organizers Porsche GT3 (so with lots of runs up the hill, and better tires).

Latest event. Got a new camera with remote mic, so can actually hear the car now.

The 2x wins this weekend put me in first for CAM.

Yes, and if you look up the August 3rd video, it picks up all the gravel on the course! Saturday we ran first and basically were the street sweepers for the 2nd group. But Sunday they were our street sweepers. ;-)

*Price Reduced*
OK, after running a full season, and being in a position to win CAM in our region, sadly its time to move to another class. Reducing price to get a quick sale, available after last event 9/22. $8k
