Attn to those trying to sell their vettes!
I just wanted to share how I sold mine in 7 days. After letting it sit on a local car lot on consignment for 60 days, and after posting it on Craig's List for the same amount of time I was able to sell it on eBay for free by listing it locally only.
It was a 2003 50th Anniversary Torch Red Z06 with 36,567 miles. It only had a Hurst shifter, C6 shift **** and a Vararam intake for upgrades. I sold it for $23,000 cash. The guy hit me up the first day it was posted and offered $19,000. I stuck to my guns and he paid me what I wanted. I listed it for $25,000 knowing people would make a lower offer and $23,000 is what I wanted.
Anyway, good luck!

The thread should stay here. We're buying and selling on this thread and the OP posted a success story. Besides C5 general is more for those who want to know what kind of glue to use to attach C-O-R-V-E-T-T-E on the back or who makes the best wax

By the way you sold your vette fast because it was priced right and you avoided the bottom feeders!!!!!!!!!!
Good Luck

Wherever you decide to sell have lots of pics and lots of info on your car.
Be prepared to get add'l info/pic requests dealt with asap, same day is ideal.
When I decided to buy in late may I contacted 5 potential cars all for sale on this forum.
I asked for add'l info on all 5. Some responded some didn't, some took days, promises made few kept.
One guy blew me away with quick responses and ALL the add'l info I req'd.
And he could accomodate a Canadian buyer.
Made a deal with him June 1.
He got close to asking, I feel I got a good deal re car as total package.
The 4 other cars are still for sale as of today.
Would have been way easier buying in Canada but it was an adventure.
I would do it again.
GLWS to all vendors.

Just to add to the last thread don't underestimate us Canadian buyers. With our dollar close to PAR the savings vs. when these cars were new for us is substantial. If we are going as far as looking south were probably pretty serious already. My C5 is only a couple months away!

I've used the local listing and it was free now I think its 15 dollars? Thats a good tip though, craigslist always brings out all the cheap skates so I try to avoid it lol

I had good luck mentioning the car was reliable and could be driven anywhere, so I can bring it to the airport for you to drive home. And someone did that, was a buying point for him.

How do you aviod all the scam artists that show up, bad cashier checks, looky lous, don't have money, etc. I really don/t feel I want to put up with a lot of there b.s. Might be worth a loss using a car dealer just to avoid the hassles.
