Default Needed High Miles corvette "project"

Hey guys, I'm looking for a 1998-2004 C5 with 100,000+ miles on it. Looking for something $1,000 or less, Or if interested trading my 1999 GMC Jimmy, so as long as it runs I don't mind interior being bad or paint being bad. I currently have a 2011 Camaro SS and I'm trying to build my dream car and become a part of the Corvette family! I'm located in Southwest Ohio, and am willing to travel to surrounding states if needed.

If interested please text (937)510-3498
Thanks
Jonathen

PS here is a pic of my current pride and joy!

Yalls realize there's more attached to that there engine to comprise an entire corvette? You'd have a hard time - i.e.: impossible, finding JUST the frame for $800

Maybe in po-dunk southern Dayton your pull - a - parts pay YOU to take the engine home, but here at the northern end it's at least $500.

Literally if it was wrecked, flooded and just a shell, a C5 would pull more $ than sub $1000.

This ain't Craigslist here Bocephus.

Look dude, I understand all that. I put this post out here to see if anyone would bite on it. I understand that $1,000 is not much and that the tires are probs worth more than that. As I was saying though, I’m trying to find a POS car, even if it doesn’t run and is missing a bumper and 4 tires. I’m trying to find a project car that I can fix up, I already have a car that runs perfectly fine and I’m just trying to get something on the side.

I've always loved Corvettes ever since I was a kid. I had a little toy 1998 C5 and I've wanted one since then. I understand how much engines go for and parts and all of that, I've checked plenty of salvage yards and know that a lot of parts go for way more than $1,000 such as the interiors, engine, transmission, wheels, bumper and front bumper pair, etc. I'm just on here trying to see what is out there, I know that a running Ls1 with 55,000 miles goes for $1,500 or more I sold mine that used to be in my 1999 Trans am after the car was totaled when a girl hit me. So yes I understand all of this and I'm still gonna ask $1,000 for a pos project car. Thank you for your inputs and your concerns for my post, no I am not aiming to make this some redneck craigslist post. I'm simple on here to find a project car. If any of you could help me find this car I would greatly appreciate it and I'm sorry if I have bothered anyone with asking such a small price for a car.

If $1000 wasn't a typo you'll be lookin' fer a long time. Like, the oil dun dried up kinda thing. Add a zero to that number and you'll get what yer lookin' fer.

********** Please read************

I am 19 years old, I have one year left until I have paid off my Camaro. I currently work, go to school, pay for car payments and insurance for two cars (GMC Jimmy and Camaro) all that I can spare is $1,000 until I'm done paying for the Camaro or until I sell the Jimmy. I am not looking for a car over $4,000, and yes I know a C5 for that cheap is crazy, but I am not looking for a high miles complete car. I am currently looking for a project car, something that may not have 4 wheels, seats, or a front bumper and hood, and that the engine won't run and its covered in rust and has been sitting in some old dudes garage or front yard for 10 years. I understand how much everything on a C5 corvette costs even when it has 270,000 miles and still runs, I'm just trying to get the word out there and see if anyone who is moving or just doesn't want the pos sitting in their back yard will sell it to me so I can put my passion into the car and fix it up. So please stop commenting that _____ is worth more than $1,000, trust me I understand all that but $1,000 is all that I have to spare.

Don't give up!! I'm a trailer dealer so I have purchased things through Copart auction. I purchased a nice C3 coupe several years ago for $2000. Engine and transmission were 100% and it started and ran. I think you'll start to see a lot of flood cars appear there. Go to www.copart.com

I’ve been looking for a C5 as well on Ohio Craigslist, but this one came up in the Detroit, Michigan area. You might be able to talk the seller down to that $4,000 cap you have set.

I bought my 2000 FRC with a blown torque tube. torn up seats, radiator support destroyed and half the front hanging down, missing brackets for turn signals, markers, etc. paint all destroyed and previous owner not only hadn't done any maint in a while but also took it down a dirt track. and still paid 7k. I'm now an additional 4k into the car but it runs, drives, and has a 1k capable driveline and all new suspension. you can get and build up a vette for cheap ish money but not exactly civic money just cause the parts cost some to begin with. I'm all about it but think you may need to extend your budget a little or realize the money will be spent afterwards in fixing it up to where u want it after the purchase. good luck tho man

I would save for your 6 month to 1 year emergency fund, a house, or retirement before you go buying a 3rd car.

coparts would be your best bet.only problem is you need a business license to bid.there are services that will bid for you but they cost a few hundred buck by themselves.
