I prefer then 405hp to the 385 for the 01. And in all reality I could go for 02 but I just prefer to have the “newer” year being the 03 if I have a choice. Correct me if im wrong regarding the 04 fuel delivery. I am new to the Vette world and would appreciate any knowledge toward the subject.

I know that people used to switch to the 97/98 fuel systems because they have a return, but I'm not familiar with the 03/04 difference. It just struck me as a very specific request. There are some nice looking 03's for sale. Good luck in your search.

Thanks, yes I have seen quite a few nice ones sell. But they all seem to be out of state! I know I want a C5 Z06 but I would ideally like to see one in person first b4 I pay to have one shipped to my driveway. Thank you for your input tho I appreciate it.

There are only certain vin's that were affected and most of not all were fixed.
Easy way to be certain is to go to a GM dealer and have them run a vehicle history report.
I like the 04s because they have better shocks.
Good luck with your search

Your're right! I ended up going 12 hours out of state to pickup a C6 Z06.

Found this local to me in NY.....

"700hp" procharged Z06
50xxx miles on it.
NO build records what so ever.
NO dyno sheet, no maintenance records

Apparently the guy spent 60k on the build and threw the receipts out according to the salesmen

Oh $24,900

beautiful car though i have got to say. Aside from the possibility of a piston shooting through a potentially stock block

If anyone knows of this car feel free to chime in, personally i want TR but it was the first Z i have been able to sit in and actually see in person.

Yes, this is correct. You should go for a 2002 or an early 2003. Later 2003s have the poorly redesigned fuel tanks.

I have the car in my signature, 670 rwhp twin turbo. Has been built and maintained by the Vette Doctors exclusively.
It has about 19,000 miles. She drives like stock but pulls like a SOB.
Selling because I'm moving to a C7

Let me know if you're interested and we can talk, text, email, skype (whichever you prefer).
Also, I'm on Long Island and I've been on this forum since 1999.

the 02 Z06s also have more headroom due to less roof pading under the headliner that the 03 snd 04s have

Thanks for the INfo on your car Jim. It honestly sounds like an awesome car and build and I do know of Vette doctors. I think right now that might be a little beyond the build I’m looking to get into though. I hope to see it around Long Island at some time though.
